Why's everyone talking about resting players for Spurs? It's like, six days away.
it's not about resting players for spurs it's about resting them because they played a couple of days ago.
I'm talking about the likes of Bellamy. He came on late(ish) against United. He played 6 days ago. I know some players will need a breather, I'm not disputing that, I'm disputing the idea of 'resting' players for Spurs, which is what was said. We've got Wolves tonight, Spurs in six days, United the weekend after that and then a 15 day break before the cup final.

That's 4 games in 4 weeks. How much rest do they need?

----------------Reina--------------
Johnson-Skrtel-Agger-Auerlio
-------------Spearing-------------
-----Henderson-Adam----------
-Downing---Kuyt----Bellamy--

Carroll has looked leaner and fitter but he put a shift against United, time to stick with the momentum he's building up or give him a breather? I'd be tempted to go with the former, in which case I'd drop Downing and play a three pronged attack of Kuyt, Carroll and Bellamy.

What Mark said.

Nobody looks fatigued. Dont confuse criminally shite performances like in the Bolton match with fatigue.

Adam and bellamy only played 30 minutes on saturday and it wasnt exactly a frenetic/ball chasing match.

I prefer that one today! I also would like Jonjo to start. He has looked lively and creative when playing behind the striker.

Bellars played even less, he came on in the 72nd minute, Adam and Kuyt entered the fray first.

There's no reason why he shouldn't play.

I think Bellamy will be on the bench again, and bring him on after 60 minutes or so. He's had a pretty tough few games, and we may need him more for the Spurs game, besides him I can't see anyone being "rested". I think Carroll needs to play, so something like this:

----------------Reina--------------
Johnson-Skrtel-Agger-Enrique
-------------Spearing-------------
-----Henderson-Adam----------
-Kuyt---Carroll----Downing--

(Assuming Gerrard is out, and Spearing is in)

Obviously I want Bellamy to start every game, but I do fear for his legs.

Carroll has got to start, we've got to let him build momentum and fuck off dropping him everytime he puts in a good performance

Carroll should be fired up for this. The media and social networks have been buzzing with praise since saturday, resting him would be folly, this is the perfect opportunity for him to build up some momentum.

Have we two Adams?

Ha ha Fixed! - One too many glasses of fine Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc last night 😉

You have good taste, sir. [Hic]

This, we should definitely play Carroll, this is the last game before Suarez is back, once he is it'll be a lot harder for the big AC to get in the line up, he really needs to make a statement tonight, I hope KD drills that message into him. A goal and a performance after the United game would give KD I right head ache for the Spurs game.

I can see wholesale changes, 4 games in 10 days could see players more prone than usual to injury. Time to use our squad, if we can't use them for Wolves then where can we use them ?

Reina

Kelly---Carra---Coates - Johnson

Spearing

Kuyt ..... Shelvey----Adam ----Downing (all four have licence to go forward).

Carroll

That's what I'd go for too. I fancy Carroll to score for some unknown reason.

Reckon Kelly and Johnson will play - Enrique to get a rest.

Reina
Kelly Skrtel Agger Johnson
Spearing Adam
Maxi Shelvey Bellamy
Carroll

Wholesale changes don't seem to work.

Gerrard hasn't travelled apparently. Not really surprising.

You'd have to think Adam will come in to the reckoning if Gerrard doesn't make it.

Be very harsh on Carroll if he was benched after his performance on Saturday. He has to start imo.

Let's hope all this football sharpens Andy up.

Gerrard has a tight hammy appaz.
Reckon Spearing,Adam and Henderson will play.
Yep. Then Downing and Kuyt/Bellamy out wide with Carroll as the main striker.

Bit of route one football could be effective tonight - need runners from midfield/the wings though. Something we've really struggled with this season.

Good with me, let Henderson and Adam express themselves, lovely. Would like to see Shelvey play a role tonight as well.
