This is entirely on having our entire midfield injured. Ox and Jones is a poor midfield - you use that for the League Cup, not for the Premier League.
Blame FSG for not buying a midfielder when the whole fan base knew we'd struggle with midfield injuries this year.
Our midfield is going to be our downfall. The 2nd is just not good enough.

There were worse duds who started the game, Robbo is in poor form, the defense was shite, the midfield lacked balance again. At least Ox created a goal. You can't really blame the result on Minamino coming on with 5 minutes left. It's on Klopp for not changing it early, again. He never does.

Yeah, our midfield has always been our weak link..Brighton completely bypassed our press by overloading on the wings when Robertson and Trent were in advanced positions.
We missed Keita when he went off, he's one of the few midfielders that have the speed of thought. Jones, Ox, and Hendo combo is ok against teams that allow us to play but against an aggressive Brighton we needed a fast-thinking Keita/Harvey/Fabinho combo.

well hopefully fab not out too long and Elliot back sooner than we think…it would help.
Jones is the problem really, he's not all that, he leaves gaps all over the place and lacks tactical discipline. Ox was ok, but would be better with the added protection of Fabinho. Hendo plus Fabs and a more attacking option is good balance. Jones is just throwing the whole thing off balance, he's a bit of a non-entity, not attacking enough, not defensive enough and struts around thinking he's made it.
I felt that we lost the game after losing Keita. The ox is to limited in his play. Yes he provided the cross for the goal, but as said here today he offered nothing after that. excpet tgive the ball away with virtually ever touch after that...
Need a Milner/Fab or even an Eillot today... Still I will look at the not as two points lost, but as one point rescued for given another 5-10 minutes I could see Brighton scoring again

A Couple of injuries and our midfield is non existent. Bissouma coming back from injury was the best midfielder in the pitch even though not fully fit and only lasting 60 mins - and he was definitely available all summer for a reasonable fee.
