Listed my reasoning but you seem keen to just avoid it, so if you can't understand it then it says more about your own intelligence., if this is your highlight of your debating skill then gosh, just wow. Go and read it back and maybe try it slowweeeeerrrr next time.
Good luck with that...
Rubans. Its pointless arguing with Frogfish. He's like Dantes in the respect.

Best to move on. Most of us have been in your position at one time or other

Oh I'm not debating now - I'm just pointing out ridiculous you are.

your line up was wrong but since it's never likely to play we shall never know. It's not about me being right but let's face it, I was 🙂 more right, since you went down that route.
12 year old's level of debate

Doesn’t matter how deep our squad is when the game is of this magnitude
Haha

We have to play our strongest side that’s available. You don’t rest in 2nd leg in a CL quarter final at Anfield unless you are Rogers as he did in group stages against RM IIRC.

Play what Klopp will consider full strength then rotate a few between United and Everton

It's crazy and mental logic to rest in CL QF final 2nd leg for reasons said above.
So you want full strength and don't rest first teamers for a tie we're 3-1 up in and at home but want to rest players for United and Everton. Gotcha.

Your picking a team without any context and reasoning
Even though the reasoning and context was explicitly given.

My original post was made yesterday unrelated to anything you said
And? I've just read through the thread and picked out your post as one I found particularly inane.

As I said Klopp won't go the whole hog but more than likely Konate, Firmino, Tsimikas and Diaz will start with Matip, Thiago, Mo and Mane rested. At least that's what I'd do. Simple enough for you to comprehend now?

100% right by Klopp as usual. A really intense game on Sunday where we had to work hard off the ball with less possession than normal and then a big game 3 days later.

Trent just back from injury and he was up and down the wing the entire game plus turning up in the middle on occasions. Seriously think of resting him. Matip can't play 3 times a week, some of the boys fasting and we have strength in depth.

Don't think Benfica can handle a high press so play a high energy, aggressive team with some of the players who are champing at the bit to break into the side.

Gomez
Konate
VVD
Tsimakis
Keita
Henderson
Jones
Jota
Firmino
Diaz

5 subs so Minamino to run them ragged, Milner to manage the game 2nd half and only use Thiago, Fabinho, Mane and Salah if we have to.

IMHO..

I think a lineup like that is just egging the opponent on. It's a match with the semis at stake, we don't need to motivate them any further.

A strong team, perhaps a couple off our best 11, with 5 subs to rest some tired legs after 60mins with the score hopefully 5-1 or something comfortable on aggregate.

I assume this aimed at BT Sport, wonder if Des Kelly will ask him more about this tomorrow:

Jürgen Klopp has accused the Premier League and TV companies of throwing “a stick between the legs” of Liverpool’s quadruple chase with a fixture schedule that he claims no other league in the world would impose.

Liverpool are firm favourites to reach the Champions League semi‑finals on Wednesday when they take a 3-1 lead into their quarter-final second leg against Benfica at Anfield. Klopp’s team then face Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday followed by home league games against Manchester United and Everton.

But it is the early kick-off away at Newcastle on Saturday 30 April, that falls between dates for the first and second legs of the Champions League semi-finals, that has exasperated Klopp. The Liverpool manager believes the workload explains why no English club have won a quadruple before.

“We are part of four competitions, and thankfully we are good enough this year not to go out early, but the fixture list we have now, let’s get through it,” Klopp said.

“The only game I am concerned about is Benfica. Because of the success we had so far we play Saturday against City, but it could have been Aston Villa [in the Premier League]. Then we play United, then we play Everton. Then, if we get through tomorrow, we have a semi-final and BT and the Premier League thought we should have Newcastle away at 12.30.

“The schedule, and how people use the fame in the moment – Liverpool is hot and everyone wants to see them – they couldn’t care less, the TV stations. It’s just not OK.

“If we play a Champions League semi-final, find me another league in the world and another broadcaster who would put the one team in the semi-finals – it might be two or three English teams – on at 12.30. It’s like: ‘Throw them a little stick between the legs!’ What? What are you doing? Why would you do that? That’s why it’s so difficult, that’s why it never happens, because nobody cares.

“It’s unbelievably difficult. We are still in three competitions and we play City; you saw how difficult that was. How could I sit here now and think about other cups? We play Benfica tomorrow and how can I sit here thinking about winning the Champions League? I don’t. We just try to squeeze everything out to stay as long in the competition as somehow possible and then be there in the final, hopefully, or in the league to make the last decisive step.”

From the start of the next television broadcasting deal BT Sport will continue to have a 12.30pm Saturday game but will reschedule it to 7.45pm if it involves a team playing in Europe on the previous Wednesday.

The Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson says the schedule is “crazy” but claims the squad can handle potentially 13 more matches this season in the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup. “At this level we need to be prepared for that and we are,” the Brazil international said. “We have a great fitness staff and we are training every day for that. We have the targets, which is achieving all the finals, playing all the games – as many games as it’s possible for us in the season – so we want to win everything. We are ready for that.

“Of course it is not easy, of course we sometimes feel tired, but you need to put in your mind that you have enough energy to deal with every challenge. We want to be in every match. If you play those matches you feel tired and you think: ‘It’s a crazy schedule.’ But we are focused on our goals and now that is Benfica.”

Klopp said he would make changes in response to the intense 2-2 draw at City on Sunday, not with their FA Cup semi-final in mind, and expects Benfica to throw everything at Liverpool. “I would go for it, full throttle,” he said of attempting to overturn a 3-1 deficit.

“I would try to put us under pressure, score early, and if not try to score a bit later. That’s what we expect. Benfica respected us before, but during the game I am pretty sure they felt that they were close here and there. But now, bad news for Benfica, it’s Anfield. They don’t only play against us, they play against the whole crowd.”

Benfica doesn't stand a chance! but we do have to go all-in on this one. With our top squad we will finish this business quickly.

Checking these for tomorrow.

Liverpool -350 (Bet365)
Benfica +1000 (Caesars)

Are there any better options out there?

Tonight was top. Can we hope for even better tomorrow?

Bayern out, Chelsea knackered and emotionally crushed for the weekend

Lesson there for us as I said elsewhere. Our tie is NOT over yet

As I said before the first leg, we’re miles better than them and should treat this two legged tie as the gift it is at this stage of the competition. We’re now two goals to the good (should have been more) and taking them to Anfield.

Prioritise the harder games (City at the weekend) and rest the likes of Salah, Fabinho etc. We’re going through at a canter.

I'm sure Real thought the same..

There are no easy games. We can afford to rest no more than 3 of the team that played on Sunday.

Yep, changed my mind after seeing tonight's games and results. All in for this match, don't take any liberties

I'm sure Real didn't think the same !

We'll see what the team is, after Klopp's comments about being 'fresh' but I still think 4 rested.

Villareal had a 1-0 lead to defend and Chelsea are a much better team than their first leg vs Real showed, they should have gone through over two legs but one down one to go (City next please).

Benfica are by far the weakest of the ¼ finalists and are 2 goals down (Roy Keane : Liverpool could have scored 7 or 8). Benfica's away record over the past 9 games in the CL is W1 (1-0 vs Ajax) D3 L5.

I'd still rather play a strong team, try and finish the tie off.. then ring the changes at the 55 and 65 minute marks. (Or earlier if we really do put them to the sword)

I think we'll have a much greater ability to do minor rotations against Villareal than we would have done against Bayern, so this is good news as long as we get through tonight!

I doubt they did against Chelsea, the current European champions.
We’re playing Benfica and do not have the same luxury of having a weaker league sewn up already. We also have the small matter of a semi final this weekend against the other best team in Europe.

TBH a CL semi-final is probably not where we can rotate and will need to play our strongest team (maybe both Juve and Bayern underestimated Villareal). Unless of course we romp the first leg (fingers crossed).

I'd rather City go out in the next round, we need them playing the same sort of fixture schedule as us

Perfect scenario would be beating City in the final, although I'd perhaps prefer to get one back over Madrid after Kiev.
