Granit Xhaka and Folarin Balogun missed the cup tie vs Forest after testing positive for Covid-19, while Emile Smith Rowe and Takehiro Tomiyasu were absent due to groin and calf issues respectively, with further assessment to come this week.

Gabriel remains suspended, while Thomas Partey, Nicolas Pepe, Mohamed Elneny and the exiled Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are all at AFCON.

Gabriel has served his suspension. They are light in Cm without Partey, Xhaka & Elneny.

I’M FUCKING BACK BABY

Sorry to burst your balloon Briz but your return is marked with an error...kick off is 7.45pm for those attending like me

2 Liverpool lineups vs. Arsenal as Klopp weighs up reward versus strongest XI

It’s an interesting conundrum for Klopp to have at this juncture of the competition and in light of what is to come, with a balancing act needed.
Either XI would not come as a surprise and Liverpool have shown they are capable of getting the job done one way or another, the objective now is to set up strong foundations for the second leg.

edit; and of course at this stage both suggestions may not be the ones

I think Joe Gomez and Thiago are the same person - we haven’t seen them on the pitch together at the same time.

Unfortunately I also think that the “person” is probably Lucas Levia wearing one of those masks like Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible.
If only Lucas missed as many games for us as at least one of those 2 sicknotes
