I HATE THESE THREADS

If you don't have an opinion to start it with its a listless piece of bollox

There's a lad in Luke's class who wears a spurs hat & scarf every day.

I'm gonna point & sing 5-0 at him tomorrow morning. I don't care if he's five.

You should shake his hand and when he reaches for it you know what you have to do....

Great performance all around. The players that were in the spotlight stepped up. Hendo was immense. Sterling played his best game in a year. Allen and Lucas controlled the midfield. Flanno was great.
I love Sakho by the way. Fucking hell the lad is a beast.

Cant wait to get into work tomorrow and celebrate infront the Spurs fans. Love it!!

My thoughts ...

Sakho - Djimi MK II? Confident on the ball, great in the air, reads the game fairly well. Well done to him, great performance.

Flanno - He didn't have an easy time out there, as we all knew he wouldn't. But he held his own, had one great tackle (on poor Lewis) and a quite fantastic finish.

Allen - Another very good performance. Controls the ball effortlessly, makes the right passes and always gives the team an easy pass. Well done.

Henderson - Growing in confidence every game. What has he done someone says? A goal and assist and dominating midfield 1st half performance that set the stage for the whole game.

Sterling - He was key in this game. He dominated the right flank with ease, and kept Tottenham on their heels early on. Started off so well, disappeared for a bit, and then ended the game they way he started ... He's also starting to become a better player with each game.

Coutinho - holds the ball a bit too long sometimes - but his class creates problem wherever he finds himself on the pitch. Could have easily had a few goals and helpers today ...

Luis Suarez - WOW, just WOW. 17 league goals. Who on earth can't see how great this player is? He is playing at a level we normally reserve for Ronaldo and Messi. He is unplayable, and his brilliance is elevating every player around him. We are watching one of the greatest players to ever play in England, full stop.

Rodgers - don't know what he said, but that was the best 45 minutes I've seen from a Liverpool team. Fantastic.

A few other observations:

1 - Spurs are an average team, lacking in confidence, a game winner (who replaced Bale?) and a striker. However, let's not kid ourselves - the regular Spurs back 4 and the game may be different. That being said, you can only beat what's in front of you and we did.
2 - The big calls in the game:
i) Soldado's goal was the right call. Shoulder to back, no doubt about it.
2) Soldado's penalty shout with Skrtel holding him - 50/50 call, but we got lucky it seemed
3) The red card? Suarez milked it, or at least it seemed like it. That ended the game just as Spurs were about to turn on the pressure even more.
3 - I said Gerrard's absence would be a blessing in disguise. Players would have to stand up and be counted. Everyone did today, and let's hope for more on Saturday.

What a great game ...

The best thing about this side is that, having thrashed Spurs 0-5, I still fully expect them to put Cardiff away easily in the next match - AND GO TOP!

I'm feeling sorry for Ross so I'll provide this thread with a bit of direction.

Rodgers is the inspirational, charismatic, megalomaniacal Jesus figure we've been missing since Rafa. I finally feel confident we're back in safe hands.

Sterling was unplayable. Henderson was incredible, a real linchpin.
Suarez was actually slightly off form & scored two!
We squandered so many chances yet won 5-0.

This at White Hart Lane with a shocking record for us.

Exceptional.

Fuck Jesus. This man is our new Shankly.

*slightly tipsy*

The half time comment is an ace one.

We came out & hammered them. So often we sit back, yet they came at us, we weathered it & went back again & again til they cracked.

I'd like to think he said they were there for the taking & we should set an example.

I've been very critical of Sterling, and on more than one occasion called him a useless cunt, but I thought today and in the last game, he's been very good. He's had a lot more end product, actually aiming for people instead of hit and hope or passing backwards, I was impressed today.

Also, Flanno and Hendo showed today, that you don't have to be the greatest most skillfull player, but if you've got heart, and you graft, you can make it. I thought they both worked their balls of today and we're brilliant, against potentially opposition players that could show them up.

Very proud of the team today.

What a performance hit the post and bar again as well and 7-0 wouldn't flatter us. No weak links on the pitch at all except Mings kicking. He needs some football coaching. Made up for Hendo Flanno Sterling and Allen who all had storming games - well done lads

I really can't believe how many people wrote off Sterling at 19.
He was always raw and had enormous potential.

i've not seen such a convincing performance for a long time.

Fantastic. Sterling fucking bossed so now he's the future of the club again. Henderson and Allen did well, Lucas was a lot more mobile than usual.

I dunno how shit they were cos they clearly have good players but we're about to face fiercer tests.

We gave City and Chelsea some reasons to be more concerned than they were this morning...

Nice post, similar to you regards Sterling but completely agree with all that.

Allen was also excellent today, fair play to him, please keep that up!

i said before the game i'd gain extra respect for this team if they won this , it was a great result and probably our best performance for a few seasons (newcastle last season better ? )

That's the best i've seen from sterling and maybe henderson too . Forgetting everything else it was probably sterling's strength and drive that impressed me most while henderson's little pass for the first suarez goal, his own finish and the backheel for the flanno goal were 3 super pieces of play .

They were all good goals but flanagan's has to be my favourite ...from the moment it started with some deft head tennis on the half way line to the whole team celebrating with him . All it missed was mingolet charging up to join in too .
And flanagan might not tear down the outside past players but he's not half bad with the ball at his feet , usually always finds a man .

and as i said, 17 goals in 11 games is just insane .

I haven't been this happy since I realised I could count to 20 if I took my socks off!!

Henderson was immense but Suarez 2 goals + 3 assists!!!
