Fuck off.

If you want someone to blame, you have the following.

Maxi and Torres.

These two should've sealed the deal.

Roy set this side out playing half decent football, these two mugs should have won the game.

They lost us the match, not Roy.

Budgie's a loser. If he'd been in the navy in the 19th century, the old cunt would have been thrown overboard before you could say 'Jonah'

Thats not what anyone is saying dmish. They missed chances. End of. If maxi slotted in the first half it might be a different story

Why can't this just go in the inordinate amount of other threads against Roy as a counter argument?

it's fine to defend roy as you're most likely right about the situation today, but it doesn't change the fact in that in an overall strategic sense, he is a terrible manager for Liverpool and needs to go. Whether we win one game or lose a game here or there doesn't matter. He's not going to suddenly change into some sort of brilliant talent evaluator and master tactician over night - he's a mid table manager with a loser's mentality, and needs to go. No mistake about it.

I agree the defeat is not Hodgson's fault. For once, he sent us out in an away game with a positive formation and attitude.

But to scapegoat Maxi and Torres for missing chances is equally unfair. I dislike Maxi when he's anonymous, but he wasn't today. He got forward a lot and linked well with Torres. Fernando was well off form, but he's still our best striker in years.

I thought Roy was spouting shit the other day when he went on about our performances away from home being better than our results, but that's actually a very good description of the game today. We played well. There really are positives to be taken from this defeat.

No one denies that.. but Roy still has to go... I say again.. 19 points from 15 games, says it all really..

Fuck that, Martin Atkinson should be in the spotlight here. Most blatant penalty this season, and he doesnt give it. Could have changed the game that.

The original poster did call Torres a mug. Torres missed two chances. It happens. He also produced two moments of absolute genius to set up Maxi. He's hardly to 'blame' for a defeat.

And while it's unfair to get on Roy's back on this game alone, he needs to go because he's an incompetent loser. You didn't need this defeat to tell you that.

He definately is anti-liverpool in most games i have seen him officiate.

Im not one for blaming refs but I thought he gave spurs most of to 50/50s. A couple of our bookings were ridiculous too. He booked Johnson for basically the same tackle we should have had a penalty for

Although I don't believe Roy's the answer to our prayers and we've been mostly dire all Season today wasn't bad at all.

The result of course was bad but the performance and general attitude and tactics seemed spot on. Perhaps we stepped a yard or two back in the second half but that was it.

With a bit of luck we had closed this game in the first half.

I don't want Roy in Liverpool in the long run but I see nothing wrong with at least giving him a few more games after a good showing at home against West Ham and another good display today.

On another note I don't think we would've lost hadn't it been for Carra's injury. He was boss today and completely in control.

The fact that we was without Gerrard and yet still played much better than what've been used to all Season with him, is another good indicator of a slowly albeit visible positive turn in form over the past weeks.

*applauds*.

The only mistake I can see Budgie made today was not replacing Maxi with Cole for the last twenty.

At the end of the day if we perform like that for the rest of the season add an inform Torres and Gerrard and we'll finish in the top 6.

I genuinely felt sorry for Roy on a personal level at full time knowing he'd be the obvious whipping boy.

Torres has huffed and puffed and been a mardy bitch for 80% of the season, a few goals shouldn't absolve him of some dire front play today.

Likewise Maxi, he's missed far too many of those sort of chances this season.

Apparently Cole injured his ankle in training yesterday. I don't think he was on the bench.

That would explain it then ! I saw in the match thread that Cole was included on the bench .... not the only one confused it seems.

Oh FFS give it a rest. You haven't a fucking clue as to what or what not he can do with this team. You're just bleating on because you think it's in vogue to do so and you think it'll make you popular. I would be very very surprised if Budgie doesn't get us to Top 6. To be clear ... I don't want him as manager but I also don't agree with the flock of sheep following Brendan on his latest crusade.

I fully agree with Hardcastle.

Roy could have done no more today.

I agree with this. At least a handful of posters are talking some sense.

I'd still swap Roy for any better manager today if we could, but the shit being spouted tonight is ridiculous.

I don't see how scapegoating two players who had goalscoring opportunities that anyone on a pitch should score is scapegoating at all.

They both had 'mares.

Wouldn't that make it the end of the season, not the end of the day?

More than a third of the way through the season and we're in tenth with a negative goal difference. That's a pretty accurate reflection of how we've played. For every supposedly unfortunate loss like today, we've had 3 shit games, humpings by Man City, Blackpool, Everton and fucking Stoke.

DLWDLDLLWWWDLWL

We've improved, but from execrable to mediocre. There's no evidence to suggest we'll sustain any winning runs given our horrible away performances, our weakness against physical midfields, and our lack of goals through the side.

So this time the result is a bit harsh on Roy. The last many were just about right when you take them as a whole, unfortunately.

Yes, Torres is a mug. Great post.

Shut up.
