Or have we done this already? I'm never sure if we do separate threads anymore.
But fuck it, here it is, and let's start with some RRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTIIINGS!

We won! Yay! And coupled with the Arabs losing to United, and an Everton humiliation, this was a pretty decent weekend all considered. Given our recent travails we couldn't have asked for a better fixture than Bournemouth at home and we got the expected three points, but made fucking heavy weather of it yet again, requiring Milner goal-line heroics to rescue the hapless Adrian.

There was a nerviness to the defence, the midfield spluttered at times and chances were missed, but we won, and God knows how we needed that result.

Adrian (5) Unconvincing as usual, and shakier than a Toxteth crackhead. Amazing he managed to keep a clean sheet

TAA (6) Had a few wobbles defensively, but delivery was more accurate than of late, and he got more composed as the game went on.

Gomez (5) Poor first half, he was bullied by Wilson and looked a weak link. Got much better in the second half and looked closer to his usual self, but still needs to improve.

Virgil (7) Better than his previous few games, he's looking a bit more like the immoveable entity he usually is, and made some some great clearances. Found time to set up a goal too, with a lovely pass to Mane. Why can't our midfield do that?

Milner (8) He's not quick enough to really excel in a full-back position, but he was just so influential at both ends of the pitch, chirping away, growling at the opposition and encouraging his team-mates. And then rescued three points with the goal-line clearance of the season.

Fabinho (3) He's been shit since he returned from injury, and continued to be shit. Slow, dopey and largely fucking useless. At some point we just need to fucking drop him, hopefully as soon as Hendo is back.

Wijnaldum (6) Another who has been rubbish lately, but this was a far more energised and effective display. Still didn't create much, but more urgent in attack than usual and helped out across the midfield, which was vital with the arthritic C-3PO stinking the place out yet again.

Chamberlain (6) Always looking to attack and take the game right to them, which is what this midfield sometimes lacks, but lacked a bit of guile and finesse at times, when a bit more invention was required. Still, pretty good especially in the first half.

Mane (8) Hit the bar, scored a goal, made a goal (although Salah made the most of what wasn't the best pass). Busy, fast, effective and dangerous. Yes, lad.

Salah (7) Caused them probelms all game, with his wiry, sinewy strength and blistering change of pace. Sloppy with the final ball a few times, but as usual, scored when we needed it. Great finish. Great player.

Firmino (4) Slight improvement from his last game, but still fucking shit. Passing awry, looked sluggish, but at least in this game he actually had a chance - that he obviously missed. In horrible form, and has been for weeks.

Arguing for higher Frim mark here. He was fucking everywhere. I was level with the penalty area and he was doing these mad s shape runs across their half that bent their defence out of shape. The fact that our midfielders are too shit to do anything about the space he creates isn't on him. It's obvious he's been told that Mane and Salah are next level kinda shit and it's his job to drag defenders everywhere, and he does it brilliantly. When Milner made the amazing clearance I wouldn't have been surprised if I'd have seen a number 9 when he stood up. But yeah he was shit with the great chance he got and should score more.

6/10

Also, I'm sure Fabinho has been told to always find the easy pass and that's why he looks terrified when someone isn't within a few foot of him when he's got the ball, but fucking hell dude, grow a pair or get on the bench.

2/10

We were pretty shite but right now results are what matter, Fab & Bobby real fucking concern, playing like absolute crack heads.

Not sure how var didn't overturn their goal, pretty fucking blatant shove if you ask just about anyone other than a british fucking referee.

Hopefully pull something out the bag in few days.

2 more wins.

Brendan basing his stats on his biases and not performances again. Quelle surprise.

Gomez made a slightly nervy start but was well up for it the rest of the match (and should have been given a foul for a blatant shove in the lead up to the goal), no way a 5. Gomez was a 6 to 6.5.

For Fabinho it was an unimpressive display but nothing like Brendan's new pet hate score. The stats based sites (WhoScored, SofaScore & TransferMarkt) all gave him from 6.3 to 6.5 which looks about right.

Brendan : Mane (8) Hit the bar, scored a goal, made a goal (although Salah made the most of what wasn't the best pass).
Wasn't the best pass ? It was ATROCIOUS. Mane gets zero credit for that, it was all on Mo with a brilliant recovery from a break destroying pass. Overall Mane a 7 and Salah an 8 for all the work he done both on and off the ball.

Ox gets a 6 for giving the ball away more than anyone and one shot into Row Z ? Yet Firmino who worked his balls off dragging the defence around gets a 4 because he missed a great chance ? 5 at most for Ox and a 6 for Firmino.

VvD gets a 7 despite being dozy as fuck for the goal ? Solid 6.

Their goal was not a push. Or maybe a push, but no freekick. Claiming otherwise is same as claiming ref should have given Stones a freekick when Firmino outmuscled him. We need to be ruthless in these situations and stop letting ourselves down in such keymoments. Same was with Robbo on the 2-0 goal for Watford. Going in a duell with the attitude of a girl afraid of the ball. We really need to set the defence right to have any chance on wednesday.

Several of our players appear surprised when the ball is passed to them.
They are kind of on their heels.

Yeah it is a worry. We have built our season on keeping the ball going between red shirts in high tempo, and now we struggle to find one. Several times the ball is passed from a defender and straight to a opposition shirt cause we are hiding behind them. It slows us down and we need to get back to having 3 good alternatives for every pass.

That was a free kick.

They did this several times, so it seemed like a conscious tactic.

Nah it was a shove from behind. A clear foul. Gomez unfortunately didn't go down, but if he did the whistle would have blown 100%. Which is a shame because these incidents only encourage players to dive around when they're touched.

Oh and I loved Milner's very obvious shove from behind on their player a little later, just to prove a point, and the coward ref didn't blow the whistle. I really hope Milner sticks around next season.

Gomez should have been stronger and cleared the ball. His overall performance was poor. Milner

Milner himself admitted he should have done better before the goal line clearance by staying with man. 8 is very generous.

I think he couldv'e cleared the ball quicker but it was a clear foul.

Milner is not a LB so can't take much fault at all for the goal, we shouldv'e done the business after Moreno left and got cover.

Push or no push. It was a shuffle with the shoulder, and for me t is ok to let it pass. My point is that we must stop putting ourselves in these positions were we potentially need help from the referee to not let in a goal. To many soft goals have come against lately and it has to stop to go through to next round CL.

Boohoo. They push us. Sounds like fucking bluefume. Push back then for gods sake, but stop gifting the oposition chances.

IIRC it was a straight push with the arm.
