Can't complain about the results so far this weekend. 2 points drop for both Man U and Leicester.
Let's see if Arsenal can keep it up.
City will destroy Newcastle though.

Werner subbed off at half time. We dodged a bullet there..

He's a good player - he'd be doing much better for us ...
I think it just shows sometimes teams have good enough players in their team - Smith-Rowe etc - and don't need to waste 150k/week on dross like Willian.

Agree. Also have to say that Pulisic is a better player than Werner, from what I have seen, and yet he’s been moved from his more effective position off the left flank, to accommodate the later.

He might be a good player but there is something missing from him technically. From a 50 million-plus transfer fee and 200K per week wages striker, I expect a lot more technically. Maybe it is due to a lack of confidence, but I see passes just bouncing off him. I am not sure he can operate well in tight spaces. For that outlay, I want a little bit more than just the ability to use pace and clever runs to go past the defenders. Look at Firmino caressing the ball and then Werner. He is more Borini than Sturridge in style. Obviously a significantly better Borini.

Of course, all of that can be excused if he rains goals.

Dont think he has the mentality to play for us. He looks scared and hides out on the pitch. Just fragile.

Arsenal fans must just love Martinelli. He's the catalyst for this team, despite being a teenager.

I love watching Saka too. I'm almost certain he meant the goal.

Pulisic is far better suited for the Chelsea set up, I concur.

Time will tell ... I think if he'd do far better for us spelling Mane or Salah as he'd get so many more chances. That being said, I think no issues whatsoever with him struggling for Chelsea.

Martinelli has world class written all over him ... Wanted both those kids in the summer - they both signed up, which means they see (saw?) a future under Arteta

Yeah, that's what people who watched him lots in Germany were warning about too – he can be devastating on the counter when on form, but doesn't really have the silky technique to thrive against tight defenses. He's looking worse with every game for Chelsea and long it may continue.

Some parallels to Keita also who looked like a Mascherano - Messi hybrid in the Bundesliga youtube compilation but has looked timid as hell for us. Maybe the German league is better for a certain types of attackers due to more space or something?

Kagawa and Mkhitaryan are two other examples, technically very solid, but looked pedestrian here.

Yeah, annoying that we couldn't get them. Martinelli's attitude is what really sets him apart.

They're certain players in the NFL - who may like talent - but they are just dogs, they fight for everything and that gives them an edge ...
Martinelli has that dog in him, and he's got talent ...

I think this is another lucky break for our transfer committee - like Gotze turning us down, and we going for Mane and Brandt turning us down for us to go for Salah. We have incredibly technical attackers and defenders - proper ballers. Look at the way Mane controls some of TAA's long passes and sets of the attack - one fluid motion. I think Werner would have stood out in our attack involving swift one touch passing. That is why I love watching Curtis play and stunned at the level of Jota. It is not that easy for a youngster to look at home technically with this bunch.

That being said, I think no issues whatsoever with him struggling for Chelsea.

Of course, I am particularly enjoying Franks's inability to put together a coherent team given the outlay.

I have a feeling Allegri's phone has sounded a familiar buzz sometime during this game or shortly after... The failure to integrate Havertz and Werner has to be unforgivable; I think that's why Frank brought Havertz on and not Giroud – he knows he needs his big signings to produce and he'll be judged on that.

I knew someone would say that about Saka. And I had a good feeling it would be you.

There's absolutely no chance he meant it
