Spurs have linked for 30m. He hasn't hit the heights at Milan, he had scored 19 in 21 for Genoa but scored less than the 1 every second game you'd like from a top striker.

When you look at the basic stats his lower goalscoring for Milan seems to be explained by him getting relatively few chances. Just two shots a game.

From his highlight vids like this one he appears to be an instinctive finisher who relishes getting on the end of chances in the box. Robertson and Arnold would be excellent for him.




The major weakness is apparently his link play so he might not be suitable as a regular starter but he'd add some nice depth to our attack for the run in.

How is that relevant? Lewandowski was bought as a 21-year old from Lech Poznan and moulded into one of the best strikers in the World. Over time. Wheter or not Blackburn wanted to sign him back then doesnt mean anything in this context.

Piatek will be 25 and has already played for Genoa and AC Milan. His stats for Genoa were insane but he thrived in a 3-4-1-2 formation were they set up the team to play to his strengths. His qualities and suitability to our way of playing doesnt seem that good, and one of his biggest weaknesess is the defensive contribution.

He’s a player I’d rather see go to someone else for 25-30 mill after some very poor performances over time for Milan. Villa, Hertha, Spurs etc have been interested, and thats probably were he should see if he can get his career going again.

Signing someone like Werner who can play across the attack and has qualities that align with our attacking play but also goalscoring pedigree over several years from the Bundesliga at an early age, makes much more sense.
