Philippe Coutinho, Part II

He's a mother fucking Brazilian.
A proper one, not a white one, a proper one, with a proper Brazilian name & the skills to go with it.

Give it a year & he'll be tearing teams apart. Between him & Suarez managers will start playing 6 at the back just so they can double up on them.

looks white to me.

Rafa rates him highly, if that means anything to yis? Considering our best Spine was bought by roffa, it might be a good thing...

He's not really a 'spine' player though, he's a 'frills around the edges' player, which Rafa was notoriously shite at buying.

Oh, and another. He will divide opinion on here almost as much as out other Brazilian has.
We've been so badly starved of attacking talent, bar Suarez, over the last couple of years (in fact probably over a decade if we're talking wide attacking players) that I reckon the moment he shows a few stepovers and then leaves a couple of players for dead with his speed, pretty much most of us will be in love with him.

He's going to be the new John Barnes.

Now we just need a new Steve McMahon and a new Jocky Hansen and we're sorted.

Allen can be the new Kevin Macdonald or Nigel Spackman if he really wants

That picture of him having the number 10 was fake wasn't it? Shame, I hope he does get the number ten, would be a good indication for him!

Makes me wonder if I know what's going on.

SSN had some brief footage of him and his mate jumping into a people carrier, looking all sexy in his crisp LFC training kit. Echo journi reckons he'll be announced today.

Only spanner in the works could be the WP. So long as we don't make the same argument for a WP that Rafa did for Mark Gonzalez (or was it Leto?) we should be ok. That argument being, "Please give us a WP for this chap, he's better than 50% of the players in the Prem". The work permit bods read that as 'he's shitter than 50% of the players in the prem' and rightly told us to fek off.

Afterwards, he explained to Liverpoolfc.com why he's delighted to have secured a switch to Anfield.
Coutinho said: "I'm feeling very happy, it's a very important step in my career and I'm expecting to come here and play good football to give my contribution on the pitch.
"Liverpool is a great club with great players. We've always heard about Liverpool's history in Brazil. They are the club that have been interested in me and that have showed this interest so I know they believe in me and my football."
Coutinho, who has one cap for Brazil, began his career at Vasco da Gama before moving to Inter Milan in 2010.
He has also spent time on loan in Spain at Espanyol.
Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre said: "We're always delighted when we get the players we go after.
"It has been a successful transfer window for us, coming off the back of acquiring Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea and now Philippe from Inter Milan.
"I think that bodes well for us for the rest of the season and the future."
Coutinho will be the fifth Brazilian to represent Liverpool after Fabio Aurelio, Diego Cavalieri, Doni and Lucas Leiva.
