Pep Lijnders watch

To think some of us wondered about giving him a shot at the Liverpool job...(spoiler, it was me!) 🤣
You're not alone. I don't remember if I wanted him to be the manager but I had a feeling that he'd take over after Klopp.

The way he has fucked up what should have been a cake walk is quite something.

Hard to see him getting another go.

Back to writing books or being a coach.

I think he will go to netherlands.

He failed there as a manager once already. If another Dutch club gives him the manager's job it really will be the triumph of hope over experience.

I don't see him coming back to work for Slot as he wouldn't even be no.2 in the pecking order.

Had to happen. He’s been awful.

Dont want him back or to see him walking around the Axa promoting his next book: «Not to much, not some but just the right amount of Intensity».

I'm sad it's not worked out for him. He'll be lucky to get a gig any better in his career - on paper, it was a perfect move for him, and he's fucked it. As a manager, he's got no credit in the bank for an owner to put much faith in. If he does get anything then it will surely be down the football pyramid and nowhere near the Champions League.

Bullet dodged from our POV and should be used as the case in point when anybody starts longing for the days of the Liverpool boot room.

I wonder ultimately, if he just doesn't have the "leader of men" thing going on.

I used to squirm watching him promote his book, and watching him around players.

#2 shouldn't be writing a book like that. Bad idea by his advisers.

Look at Frank, failed everywhere he has gone but still got roles

There was a Mourinho stat banded about a few years ago about him earning more from getting sacked than he did from actually doing the job.

In Frank's case, if you could get paid for fucking things up and then going into another job to do the same, whilst topping up his fortune along the way..... no brainer if you can get the gigs.

Gkmacca late of this parish. whose connections within the club seemed substantial, reckoned he was actually excellent with players. I doubt whether that admittedly toe-curling book launch was typical of the way he usually related to them.

What this boils down to is that Lijnders is another in a long line of good coaches who don't have what it takes to succeed in the manager's chair.

Lampard actually hasn't failed everywhere. He did well at Derby and to begin with he also did well with the Chavs, when they were under a transfer embargo and he had to work with what they already had. Like Hodgson, he's done OK when he hasn't overreached himself.
