JERMAINE PENNANT'S SWITCH AGONY
Winger considers move to Liverpool's rivals Everton

JERMAINE PENNANT is agonising over a dramatic switch across Stanley Park to join Liverpool's arch-rivals Everton.

The winger's Anfield contract runs out on July 1, making him availabe on a free transfer.

Goodison Park boss David Moyes is ready to snap him up but Pennant, 26, who was a £6.7million Liverpool signing in the summer of 2006, is concerned about the Kop fans' reaction to such a controversial move.

A pal of the star admitted: "Jermaine wouldn't want to do anything to upset the Liverpool fans who have always been good to him."

Pennant, who was on loan at Pompey last season, is also aware of interest from Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Tottenham, Wigan, Stoke and Hull City.

Fuck him, if he wants to go to them i don't really care

So people what do you think?

I couldn't give a fuck to be honest. Pienaar is probably better than him, so good - it'll make them worse.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

I'd actually like to know the actual total fee paid for him.

The 6.9 million did have some add-ons and other clauses, including appearances so we might not have paid the full sum.

I suspect that was one of the reasons he was 'frozen out' by Rafa after two competent seasons.

Such contracts are surely detrimental for the player. Perhaps that's why owen doesn't want to sign a pay-as-you-play deal.

Judging by every reply to this thread these fans he speaks of are clearly somewhere else!

evidently!

Could this mean he's seriously considering the move (i.e.it isn't mere paper talk) but trying to butter up the Liverpool fans first, so he doesn't suffer any consequences if/when he moves back to the city?

He'd be a sub for them too. Both Arteta and Pienaar are much better than him.
[/quote]

Maybe he'd get in on the back of the 6+5 rule?

No. Pienaar is an out-and-out wide player. Arteta plays in the kind of position Stevie occupied during the 2005/6 season, starting games out on the right but coming in a lot.

Arteta starts mostly on the left mate.

And Piennar was always more of an attacking central middie than a winger with Ajax and Bafana Bafana. That he's become a very good player on their flank is a testament to the player.

Osman's better than him as well.

Seems a risky move. Having the whole City hate you just to sit on the bench at Everton.

Yup, true, forgot about him.

I don't think any Liverpool fans would start hating him just because he signs for Everton. Most aren't that keen anyway.

Everton fans might start hating him but I suspect he will end up getting that at any club

He does mate, it's nearly always Arteta on the left, Osman/Pienaar on the right. I've just asked my bluenose mate too, and he's verified it.

Not that it matters a fucking jot really.
