My source says we're signing his brother, Bot, not Paul.
If he's free, & on low wages it's not *that* bad. He's versatile at least, & the fact Roy's after him must mean he wants to get rid of at least one or two players.

He's really not up to the standards we need to get back into the top four. Surely Roy must know his first signig for the club is going to be scrutinised to the extreme by the media, by the fans, and most importantly the current playing squad.
From a playing point of view, where would we play? Any tome I have seen Wigan play in the last 18 months or so, he's been in defence more than midfield. He's an average midfielder and below average defender. I just can't see why we would be signing a player like this.

I can understand why everyone is so shocked, Roy is a highly regarded manager and he normally only signs world class players. It is completely out of character for him to sign a journeyman on a free transfer and the whole thing must be a mistake or smokescreen.
