Newcastle boss Alan Pardew and Manchester City centre-back Vincent Kompany are the Barclays Manager and Player of the Season respectively.

This is the first time a Magpies manager has been awarded this accolade.

This is the first time that a Manchester City player has picked up the award and is also a first for the Belgium international.

Yep, well deserved. Strange that Kompany wasn't even nominated for the other Player of the Year accolades (or maybe they should be renamed FWA Footballer of the Half-a-season award).

Kompany is a beast, and it's hard to argue with Pardew. Any news of young player of the year?

I don't get the Pardew hate, maybe I've missed something, he seems quite down to earth.
I think macca posted that it is well known in football circles that he is horrible, rascist, homophobic cunt. I am paraphrasing but I distinctly remember the racist cunt bit.

he fucking travelled from the present from somewhere like halifax which is basically a medieval paradigm. it's not his fault.

Fair enough, I've not really seen enough of him, he just always comes across in interview as the average Joe.

I've also started to hate the way he celebrates a goal. Ah well, they'll be struggeling again soon enough.

I thought he was an adulterer or a sex pervert ... that would complete the list of what he had been accused of, not that everyone else does not indulge on it...

Yes. But through gritted teeth I have to agree he's a worthy winner this time.

Anyone catch what Yaya Toure said about Liverpool in his bbc interview?

It may have been something in reference to toughest game. Must have been the one at Anfield.
