We used to live not far from Yellowknife (if by not far, you mean 750km or so - which is pretty close by northern Canadian standards) but moved up here in the fall
Greenland is only a 2 hour flight from here. Hoping to visit there either this year or next.
Work will likely take me to a few smaller communities much further north. Iqaluit is literally the metropolis of Nunavut, such as it is.
Got to respect you living there. I've photographed owls in Inner Mongolia when it was down to a wind chilled -50C! Damn the moment we left the hotel our eyelids froze!
