So would he leave Italy? He strikes me as the type that would want to return as soon as his departing flight landed.

I guess ... most Italian stars rarely leave the 'homeland' in their 'prime' ...

to what extent are cultural reasons independent of life in a city?

Ryan. This isn't the first time you've slagged off the city. Please ,if you're going to give us an opinion, please try and do it with something you know what the fuck you're talking about. Liverpool sure has it's problems - but it's no worse than any other major city in the UK. In fact, it's centre is probably one of the most exciting and vibrant city centres in Europe at the moment. So, please, keep your belittling shite to yourself. If it's such a shitehole - you'll never want to visit it or Anfield again will you ? The city might not be the prettiest overall and it has problems like I say with poverty, crime and lack of investment. It has one of the most friendliest and welcoming people in the world though - that's what sets it apart. It's a rough diamond for sure. You can look at the likes of place like Chelsea, Fulham,Windsor etc.. some of the most affluent areas in the UK but the people there wouldn't give you time of day. Especially not a tuppence ha'penny snob like yourself.

This city, and the people in it, built the club you support - so have some fucking respect. I won't open a can a worms myself by saying it wasn't built on the support of long distance part time fuckers like yourself.

It has a very acceptable level of creative licence.

Let me just say I have no problems with OOTers and I extend a welcoming hand any day. I do have problems with people who claim to support the club yet do fuck all but slag off the city. Whatever facts remain or whatever way you want to look at it - the main fact is that without the existence of the City of Liverpool then Liverpool Football Club would not exist.

How isn't it?

Football clubs only existed to serve the local community's, and without them they'd be nothing. You think Shanks would have built a dynasty without the input of a passionate local, fanatical fanbase?

I'm quite proud of our large global support, it's just the way the game has evolved, but don't try and rewrite history and lessen the impact local people had on building the club.

Sunny is spot on. The City is one of the most vibrant and fastest growing cities in the UK, and to just write it off a shithole because we can't attract every flavour of the month galactico and because one player might want to leave because his wife hasn't settled shows massive disrespect. I'm sure he's getting a kick out of all the attention, mind.

Firstly - I haven't made any comments about the city itself. Take it as read that if I agreed with what Ryan said I wouldn't have been over about 20 times in the last four years. I certainly wouldn't have gone for a job interview in LIverpool if that was the case.

In terms of history I'm talking about right at the very beginning. The club had no Scousers in the team and no local support until they began winning things. From then on what Sunny says is correct.

I'm not getting into the whole OOTer debate.

What i will say is this though, Liverpool FC without the fanatical Berkshire brigade would be lesser club for it.

Eh?

No local support?

Haha.

This could get messy.

You couldn't move for the 1890 St Albans massive around Anfield.

This is getting embarrassing. Why are you trying to justify your support by belittling local fans and their obvious impact on the club using some bizarre claim that they didn't exist around the time of the clubs inception?

No one is denying that out of town players and managers played a huge part in building up the club, but are we really expected to believe that the crowd was made up of jocks and the swarthes over on Easy Jet?

It's not a bizarre claim, it's a historical fact. At the outset the club had fuck all support.

When it began to win things the locals took notice and began to support the club.

Good luck with that.

Oh by the way Keni, i dont think DeRossi would ever leave Roma, but if he did i think he would move abroad.
Roma players, in particular born and bred Romans like him (and Totti) would not want to play for another team in Italy. If he left (which he wont) it would be overseas, probably Spain. I just cant see him ever wanting to play against Roma, hes a very proud Roman.
