spurs came for a draw and we'd pretty much no idea on how to stop them from getting it , infact they probably should have won with the best chance of the game .

We're so useless in the final third it's ridiculous , no ideas, nobody can beat a man , nobody can cross . Now we're probably back to the problem of how do we make Carroll and Suarez work .

That's 4 wins from 12 home games ....that is not good enough and i don't give a shite if we're a team in progress, henderson will be good when he's 29 blah blah. this was a big game and we were so flat .

He's like Downing in a way. he gets so much ball that he makes you think he must be playing well. But he rarely produces anything of note.

Carroll must be livid, he's played well again today, won everything he can in build up play and then when it comes to getting into the box and waiting for a decent delivery, we leave him short changed everytime.

He cut inside practically everytime he crossed it, with his favoured foot! That cross at the end, when everyone was close enough for him to play it into, he crossed it and floated it about twice the distance from where they were. No excuses. When are you gonna learn that being a bit quick and skillful doesn't equate to being a good player, for every moment of quality from him, there are countless moments of brainless play.

I told ya he shouldnt have started. Every time we attack we have three midfielders outside the box. Spearing, Gerrard and Adam.
I knew he'd be ineffective in this game. Hendo should have started, Suarez too.

Suarez was under-utilized there when he came on, unfortunately. All that buzz for nothing. He's stellar when he gets the ball to feet and is allowed to work his magic and create an opening for himself or for others, but he's going to be a lot more disengaged and muted when he's employed as a poacher trying to get to the end of knockdowns.

That's not a knock on Carroll. That's the best effort I've seen from him this season, but him and Suarez just don't seem to match well. Sure, there were a few nice link knockdowns from the big man for his partner, but Suarez, like Gerrard, is the sort who really needs (and deserves) a lot of the ball to shine. With our attacks mainly set up around getting the ball to Carroll today, we badly isolated our best creator next to Gerrard.

I'm giving up on us getting 4th - we'll not get there with this squad and with our insistence on playing football with no pace. We should just focus on putting a couple of trophies in the cabinet this season, and hope we have a better summer.
