We beat Lyon and Fiorentina and we should be fine. At the time of the draw then most would have said we'd get 4 points from them, though admitedly now we need 6. Then do the Hungarians, no problem.

It's easy to make this sound harder than it is. We are more than capable of doing it.

Apologies as this is no doubt in another thread, but I've just marked the whole football forum as read as I can't be arsed with the undoubted shenanigans about.

and another thing, I think the commentator said last time we lost 4 in a row was 23 years ago. Well, I wouldn't mind being the 1986 team.

It is pretty much an extension to every other thread yes, but the point's valid.

We're better than every other team in the Group, now we need to prove it. We were 'fucked' a couple of years back, went to Marseille and humped them 4-0. I'm confident than we'll still qualify from this group.

well said lads, while the past month has proven we're not league winners, we are much better than this current form, and we'll turn it around.

I'm no doom monger, but I'm not confident.

I don't know how you can be confident mate. I think we can do it - 2005 and Marseilles, as you mentioned, proved it. But this team seems to be lacking a lot of confidence and on field leadership. I just wish Mascerhano had taken this game by the scruff - not with his lacking offensive abilities but just with his fire and passion. Just try and will the team to finish Lyon - we needed a Roy Keane like figure last night leading the lads ... and no one on the pitch could do it.

We've been missing leadership in the middle of park for most of the season, so last night was no real surprise. We've needed calm and quality on the ball, Masher is a scrapper so he's not going to really give us that - although I did notice him ping a few delightful balls about in the first half.
