Non LFC summer transfer thread

It's insane. I don't understand it. They had a fire sale and it was a seller's market for some reason. There's more idiots than ever.

Yeah, Saudis is one thing, but you can’t accuse Arsenal and United of willingly overpaying for Havertz and Mount to help Chelsea - but that’s what they did. Who else was in the market for Havertz for anywhere close to that kind of money? Why didn’t Arsenal just wait and use their leverage?

Same with Utd. They’ve been rinsed for 60 mill for a player with 1 year left on his deal.

I think Arsenal have a plan and just wanted to get their targets done have them all in time for pre-season.

Rice is a massive fee but I think he will prove valuable as a captain and steel in midfield.
Mount is a shocker, typical united purchase of recent yrs.

I remember we used to be like that with a plan, big fees at times people questioned for Mo, Mane, Van Dijk and Ali but worked for us. Hopefully we can still do that this summer…

At least Mount did seem to have a number of suitors including us, Bayern also I think. Havertz had Real Madrid interested early, but then they decisively exited the talks and it was just Arsenal competing against no one. Bizarre.

I think we were interested in Mount to a certain degree in terms of fee. Once it was given Utd were gonna get rinsed at 60 mill we moved on.

I’m still not sure where Mount would play for us.

His wages at United are reported to be 250K - 300k per week. Once we heard his wage demands, I am guessing we decided to move on.

The thing is, I expect both Havertz and Mount to be better at other teams than they were at the fuckin circus Chelsea has been lately. Both good players, yeah overpriced, but they'll add plenty of value at their new clubs.

I expect both to be about the same. Mount was best in a 3-4-2-1 playing behind the striker. He hasnt been very good or effective in other formations. Utd dont play like that.

Havertz doesnt seem suited to be playing in England.

Havertz has been playing in a highly dysfunctional Chelsea side for the last 18-24 months. Prior to that he’d looked the classy and versatile attacker he is, whilst scoring at important moments.

Sadly, I think he’ll thrive at Arsenal with Saka and Martinelli playing off him. He’s better value than Rice at the reported fees (even if Arsenal ultimately needed a Rice type player and got it done)

He scored 9 and 14 goals in two seasons with 3rd and 4th finishes and a Champions league final win.
They werent disfunctional then and he’ll continue to be meh now.

he would be good as the false nine in a klopp team

I still don't think he's anywhere near clinical enough. Whether Chelsea has made him sluggish and overthinks now, but he doesn't seem to know when to release a pass any more

I wonder whether he's been bought to play as a 10/8 in their system. Potentially like xhaka was, or they'll use him as backup to odegaard

So, Bobby type figures when we were regularly challenging in the league and champions league?

He’s a very classy player and only just 24…anything but ‘meh’…

Hansern is worried ... he's coping this way ... you don't want our eternal optimists realizing that our summer rebuild is probably done ... dear lord, let me eat humble pie and let us spend the Net spend as arsenal or something

What has Bobby got to do with it?
Havertz isnt a goalscorer. Why would that change at Arsenal? Classy player but ineffective and doesnt fit in. Soz, its actually clear that he’s the perfect Arsenal player.

I’m not worried. Just sick of everyone flapping their jizz at other clubs transfer business even when its meh. You know the same people would be tearing up this forum in anger if we signed them.

Kai Havertz is a load of fucking shit who gets a free pass for having a vaguely unorthodox name for a boring average German cunt

Rice will probably be great though, unfortunately

Bobby is apparently Al Ahli bound - here we go according to Romano.

Can't say I'm chomping at the bits and goes there with my blessing but if that's what he wants, I'm happy for him.

It is kind of disheartening that pretty much the entire England midfield were available for transfer this summer and we got nowhere near any of them in the end

Disheartening? Not sure that’s even close to the word I’d use to describe how I feel…in fact quite the opposite.

Run through that England squad and tell me which of them are actual winners? World cup….failed. Euros….bottled it. Bundesliga…..bottled it. Europa Conference? Do me a favour. Walker Foden and Grealish? Nah, carries by what’s around them.

The English suck, overrated and overhyped…the only people that beat to the sound of their own drum because their so out of touch with the outer world.

I’m broke at the minute due to gambling but as soon as I’ve saved up enough I’m outta this shit hole country and going to live in either Sydney or Zhangzhou.
