Ngooing in Green n' White?

I really give up. Why must these players ALWAYS be dismissed at this stage? Plenty of us above talked about his potential, but can you wait? No. It's always got to be decided here and now. Ridiculous.

Like you did with Rodgers after 4 months you mean?

Fortunately my opinion doesn't matter, or have any bearing on his career. In the same way that I'm sure you hope you're wrong about Rodgers, I'd be delighted to be wrong about Ngoo. I think it's unlikely, though.

And no, Ryan, I don't think he's as hopeless as N'gog.

The mad thing about Ngoo is that he wasn't really even first choice for our reserves when he got loaned out, and didn't start that much for the next gen side last season either. I'm not sure whether that means our other youngsters are all outstandingly good or it's just impossible to say which players are going to flourish in the end.

The point isn't just whether he ends up being good enough for us but what kind of ROI we get.

If there is a reasonable chance of it turning out to be a 7M or more sale rather than 2M off the back of a good loan deal we should definitely look at that. Although obviously sell on clauses can mitigate that to an extent.

Yes, but is there any urgency to draft the contract now? These threads ought to be pretty brief and speculative, but instead they nearly always go on and on and start to resemble either an end of season meeting - 'I'm sorry, son, but we're going to have to let you go" - or a lawyer's session - "Ooh, ooh, here's another clause to go in the sell-on section!" He's got potential, he's out on loan, let's watch and wait.

Pretty much, yeah. Though it can go the other way aswell lads, let's not forget, we could capitalise on it in the Summer, or wait a year and he might nosedive

I like him a lot. He's such a handful. I say KEEP.
Loan to championship next year.

if we keep, he does not play games and his value depecriates. we need to sell with a buy back clause and sell on clause. that way he plays games, gets better and we are rewarded.

We should probably sell young players soon after we recruit them, before their value depreciates. In fact, sell them before we recruit them. Just to be on the safe side. That will also avoid the humiliation incurred through misplaced hope.

What a fucking retarded statement.
Rewarded!!!
I want to win fucking trophies not make FSG rich.

Is he a bit like Crouch in that he might score Champions League hat-tricks, 160 career goals plus 20-odd International goals?
Or is he just tall and thin?
Would you like me to repeat my last post, or just highlight words from it?

Fair do's Macca, I agree they do require a certain level of patience, particularly as in this case where they've been given the opportunity at a reasonable level and taken to it well. It'd be interesting, as said earlier, to see him go to an English club next season on loan.

I agreee, he never looked great at reserve level but thats not always a good indicator. He may never make it with us but I think hes has something about him, its worth sending him out for 6 months on loan and seeing how he does in the premiership if possible but as this point in his career first team football is the key.

If we are selling him it should be with a fixed buy back fee

The young players we have on the verge of the first team but not quite there yet like Shelvey Suso Sterling Ngoo etc should be going out on loan next season, let them get first team football away from the intense pressure at Anfield and see how they do, we will know more after seeing them play 6 months of first team football than we will leaving them in the reserves for another couple of years.

the guys is nearly 21 and hardly played a game for us. what is your definition of young? if he was 18/19 yeah give him time.

He's 20. So he misses your arbitrary cut-off point by a year. Outside of computer games, players are individuals who develop in different ways at different speeds. I can deal with that. I guess you can't.

At 20 Gareth Bale was seen as a Jonah and could barely get a game at LB for Spurs.

the odds are against him - a 20 yr old who has hardly played for the 1st team. it's not as though he has come in and played the odd game at the highes level. i would love for him to make it, but if he comes back, can you see him playing any games? for him and the club its best he goes elsewhere at this stage and PLAYS games.

It's a difficult one.

Part of the problem is, as a forward he has to be of sufficient quality to be an alternate to Suarez or Sturridge.

If fit - those two are going to play 10 times out of 10, unless its a League Cup game. So unless he's a Fowler or Owen it's going to be a problem.

Pacheco is a good example - needed to be playing competitive football consistently - apparently has a good attitude - had a few cameo performances - did well on a short loan to Norwich - didn't push on.

He was never going to displace the key forwards in the central role that suited him.

Had he been a defender or a midfielder he might have been given a little bit more room to develop, but as a forward it's either world class or nowt.

If we keep him we'll ruin him - that doesn't mean we gave to sell - but we do have to give him competitive games at a level where he has exposure to players that are older and more experienced.

Ultimately - he won't make it at Liverpool - we all know it - despite how much we hope otherwise.

Which is why he has gone on fucking loan! Jesus fucking christ! Wait and see how he fares.

I'd like to see him on loan in England. Playing in the SPL is not a reliable barometer for a young players readiness or potential.

I happen to think he'd do well for a Wigan/Reading/Southampton etc.
