The Lions could be good this year

I'll bump this post for you at the end of the season.

I've been following this sport for all of about 10 days. I know what I'm talking about.

Channel 4 have got Sunday Night Football. Bring back Gary Imlach!

[/quote]

Yes!

Imlach would be a great choice.

I really hope they don't dumb it down like they tied to many times in the past. Anyone remember the "viscious boys"? >🙁

How about Two Tribes as the theme music.........im getting all nostalgic here ;D

and they need the channel 4 american footballer logo back 🙂

I tried to find the clip of Imlach getting hit by the Bills player, but no joy 🙁

I almost hope the Lions do better than the Bears just so we get some nice draft picks for Lovie's successor to play with.

Almost.

Presbyterian played their first ever BCS opponent last night. Took a fucking off Wake Forest, but put together the play of the year. QB bounced a lateral out wide. The fella who caught it pretended like the play was dead because the ball came off the turf, and the defence bought it. Then he hiked it forty yards down the park and the receiver had nothing but field to run into. Genius.

It's pretty hilarious. They look a fucking mess.

They're better than this though. This looks sloppy, like they figured they'd just steamroller Miami. Handling is shit.

Youngstown are hilariously in front of Penn State too.

Pouncey can't snap it properly, no one can handle the ball, no Tebow on 4th and 1's to just pound it...

they'll still win obviously.

Miami just killing themselves. That second faked punt was stupid. And now this Merriweather bullshit.

Florida's secondary has about ten times the yards of their offence. Jokers.

As an aside, 1-A sides arranging regular season games against FCS sides is just bullshit. Seminoles are already 35-0 up on Samford, halfway through the second quarter. Fuck is the point of that? I'm all for mullering sides, and detest that 'running the score up' is seen as a breach of etiquette. That shit's for the birds. But putting stupid numbers up against lower tier sides is nonsense. Especially when you're a BCS team.

Leinart's been released.

I'm also stunned to find out that not only does Mike Williams now play for Seattle, he's a starter! I get the Pete Carroll link, but fucking hell.

Woah, says a lot that Derek Anderson beat him for the starting job ... What a bust.

Other big cut is:

The Seattle Seahawks have cut wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh, a team source told ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

The Seahawks signed Houshmanzadeh to a five-year, $40 million contract last offseason, and Seattle will wind up having paid him $15 million for his one season with the Seahawks.

Other news, though expected:

No. 1 overall draft pick Sam Bradford will start at quarterback for the St. Louis Rams in the regular-season opener at home against the Arizona Cardinals next weekend.

Coach Steve Spagnuolo announced the decision Saturday, saying Bradford had earned the job.

"We're confident. The staff's confident. The team's confident," Spagnuolo said. "It's well deserved."

Garrett Gilbert era officially starts at Texas with a win 😀

What a great game between LSU and the Tarheels.

Mack Brown didn't seem too willing to let Gilbert run the show though. Similar situation to Florida.

Funniest thing all weekend was Ole Miss. How's that working out for you, Jeremiah? Jacksonville State? Just arranging games with FCS teams is bad enough. But losing to them... Good for Jack Crowe though. Loved the two point call at the death.

My particular favourite thing about the Bears so far this pre-season is that we basically just cut all of last year's draft picks. Gilbert, Iglesias, and Afalava are all gone. Brilliant. How the fuck does anyone in our front office still have a job? This season is just one long death rattle for Lovie. Plus, we let LeFevour go on waivers to the Bengals even though we have zero back up for Cutler. Hanie is injured and Collins is eleventy hundred years old. Marvellous. Surely we knew this during the draft, unless everyone was just drunk. I like LeFevour. It's a mistake. And apparently we don't need fullbacks.
