Fucking LOL.

First snap at home... Jahvid Best more than doubles the Lions longest rushing attempt for the whole of last season. Then sits the rest of the game out, job done.

Promising...

Aaron, Avy - Worried?

I like my Raiduhs to be a surprise package (8-8, maybe 9-7) thjis season, IF Jason Campbell's injury isn't too serious. Weak division and all, you never know...

Aaron - Headed your way this weekend, mate. Looking forward to a break from Big D.

It's hard to say at this point, I have not watched a full game yet, and it is the preseason so who knows, after the opening weekend I will have a better idea.

This weekend should be fun, hopefully we can get this baby taken care of before then, but we'll see.

One thing to note, we will not be eating fajitas on Saturday.

Nobody in a Browns helmet does shit about it either. Delhomme's going nuts and his mans are like, "yeah, fuck that. Boy's a beast."

I thought you were a Pats fan?
[/quote]

I started watching the NFL about '82, and immediately fell in love with the Raiders' uniforms and helmet. I've cheered for them ever since.

When I emigrated 10 years later, I began my American life in Boson, and so started also cheering for all local teams, including the Patriots.

This is the only sport that I allow myself to have two teams like this, 'cos I think it's a valid reason to do so... But, I've always said that if the Pats play the Raiders, I'm cheering for the Raiders.

In recent years though, with Al Davis being such a tool, and exhibiting more interest in simply being a twat than in leading a good team, I have put far more emotional time into the Boston lads.

NCAA have told Jeremiah Masoli he can't play this year. Which is amusing. Undoubtedly there will be an appeal. Ole Miss really need him to start.

He's excellent. He's no Usain Bolt, so you probably won't see him go in the top ten (and Al won't be looking at him), but he can carry a heavy load over a season and will run through walls for his team. He doesn't fumble the ball (think I've only ever seen him lose it once, and he was PISSED about it) and even when you hit him he just keeps running. He moves well laterally, can shake tackles in open play, and has dancer's feet His top end speed means he won't take it to the house in the pros like he does in the SEC, but he is a phenomenal worker. Any team would love him to compliment a Reggie Bush style specialist. He also has very nice hands and will get decent yards catching too.

Funny thing is, even though he won the Heisman last year, he probably won't see as much of the ball at Tuscaloosa this year. They have another elite running back, Trent Richardson, who will share carries this year. Ingram is actually injured at the moment - he took a knock to his knee in training earlier this week and had an arthroscope. He'll miss the first game but might be back after that. They play San Jose State in the opener (which isn't really the introduction to 1-A that their new coach needs) so Richardson could clock up computer game numbers.

I said he wouldn't go top ten, but there is one scary scenario. I think the Pats have a 1st rounder from Oakland next year. If the Raiders don't have a good (or even reasonable) season, then the Pats might take him early. I don't even want to think about what they could do with him.

Big 10 have dished out their schedules for next season, including new member Nebraska.

The Cornhuskers have eight conference games in nine weeks -

at Wisconsin
Ohio State
at Minnesota
Michigan State
Northwestern
at Penn State
at Michigan
Iowa

Jesus Christ. Seven of those teams went to bowl games last year, and the one that didn't was Michigan, who have only won more games than any other college in history. Last season four of those teams ended up in the top twenty, and four of them are ranked in the pre-season top twenty this year.

Toto, I have a feeling we're not in the Big 12 anymore.

Odd that Ohio St and Michigan have been split into different divisions in the new Big 10, but will keep their final regular season game slot for the rivalry match. Which means they could meet again the following week in the Conference title game. The Big 10 is strong enough that they could have been kept in the same division and only play once. Less lucrative potential Conference game for the bigwigs though, I guess.

I'm gonna make more of an effort to keep up with college football this year. Back to nfl prospects, what do you make of greg jones and kirk cousins?

Jones's only problem is size. He's seeing out his fourth year for the Spartans and that can only be to get himself bigger. I imagine he was heavily scouted last year and might have been told he would slip out of the first two rounds on bulk. Pros is a different world to the Big 10.

Cousins, I'm not so sure. I'm assuming Mich St are going to fuck off this dual QB bullshit and start full time with Cousins. A lot of people up there like the kid Maxwell though, so he'll undoubetly get snaps at some point, especially if Cousins is looking to the draft next year. Like I said before, the QB class is fluid at the moment - who comes out when depends on the CBA and any rookie cap. If Cousins comes out after this year, then he won't second round in the next year's draft. No fucking way. There are just too many better QBs potentially going in that draft. I don't really see him as a pro starter, but a lot of organisations will like him for a back-up I would think, especially with his off-field activities. The Spartans do run a pro-style offense though, and he is the right size and has a nice arm. This could be a big season for him. If he steps up and leads them to a good record, then there will be hype around him. I found him incredibly streaky last year though. He'd look ridiculous at times, just fizzing lasers about the place. Then he'd throw an INT (Notre Dame, anyone? He looked great in that last drive and then lost the game). Consistency is what everyone will be looking for.

Nitchman has gone too, so there's an immediate question about that O-line. Cousins has loads of receivers to play with, but I'd worry about the protection he's going to receive. I think Keshawn Martin will have a big season though. Someone has to step into Blair White's shoes, and I think he's the man.

Channel 4 have got Sunday Night Football. Bring back Gary Imlach!

So across ESPN, Sky, and Channel 4, NFL will be on every Sunday from 16.00-04.30 or so 🙂

Ha ha ha. Marshall shouldn't oughta done that. They block a Buckeyes field goal and run it back to the house. Terelle Pryor is like, "whut?" and promptly tosses one 60 yards to the house.

Miami picking up where they left off last year. Jacory Harris two TD completions already. Their game with Ohio St next week is going to be HUGE.

Don't fucking ruin it for me before the season starts !

The Lions could be good this year according to the stuff I've been reading / listening to.

Jahvid Best is going to make a difference there straightaway, that's what they're saying
