NFL Regular Season Thread 2010

I used to support 49ers due to Montana, Young and Rice.

Dunno who they have now though.

Just don't go for the Lions Ross 🙂

On the subject of the Saints, on the start of the new Madden game it has Drew Brees talking about how wonderful it it's all about the City and team as one etc. No mention of them trying to move to San Antonio then 😉
No mention of the hurricane which caused that either. 😛

Oh, and the Cowboys would be like supporting the Yankees. Don't do it!
Nope, it's like supporting the Steelers!

We aren't the best team historically and we don't have the same FA pull as the Yanks do, and the hatred most people feel for the boys is more based on the early-mid 90s than the current group. I mean, players like Ware, Romo, Austin etc haven't done anything to deserve hatred (at least not until they win a few super bowls).

Exactly the same for me.

But youve got to love the Jets after watching Hard Knocks pre-season coverage on HBO (free on NFL.com) - its fantastic tv (would be great to get a prem club to open the doors like that).

I hate anyone who plays for Jones. Especially Romo. The hateful cunt. I hate everything about them. I even hate you a little bit.

You love me. Just accept that some Cowboy fans grow on you and you cannot resist them. :-*

Nowt wrong with the 49ers, mate. The Packers are also a team that many neutrals favour, with a storied history, insane fanbase and Brett Farve was actually a decent lad when he played there.

Basically, anybody but the Colts, Vikings, Cowboys, Broncos or either NY team and you'll be laughing.

Nothing wrong with supporting the Vikings.

Not if you're a spaced-out moosefucker maybe.

Is Brett Farve playing for them..?

Is that the saints on the thursday? Should be a cracker.
It sho' is, and I agree, it should be some game.

Big Ben's starting tonight and just thrown an interception.... looked terribly under thrown.

This Antonio Brown looks like he could be good.

No, that game is in New Orleans. Home opener is the week after. I've got the Dolphins at the Metrodome.

Ha, Leftwich has just thrown a 68 yard TD to Wallace... exactly the same play that Ben fucked up.

Brown played 1-A in your neck of the woods for the Chips. Can't see him getting much field time this season other than as a kick returner though. He went to the draft really early. Could and should have played another season of 1-A. Their WR corp is looking a bit scant though with Holmes gone and Ward about seventy five years old. Wallace will need to step up and Miller needs another decent campaign. Especially as their running game is going to miss Willie Colon's blocking bad.

Big Ben is a punk - and if he was a Cowboy, almost everyone would be slamming in far more than most have. I am curious to see if they don't cut him next year -

I thought they might have cut him this year if it had got any worse. But Holmes got a couple of chances, so I guess Ben will get another one.

Come on Wiz, if he was a Cowboy everyone would have rolled their eyes and thought, "there's a surprise..."

Oh right, thanks for that. Looking forward to it even more now. 😉

Bradford looked a mess again against the Browns. It looks like the plan is to start him, and Feeley picked up a hand injury. Not sure how bad that was. At least Bradford didn't get sacked a whole bunch of times like last week. He looks far from assured under center though. His upside is massive, but if he just gets blitzed in the first four or five games then it can be hard to come back from. Still think Clausen was a better choice for starter.

Looks like Okung is going to miss the start of the Seahawks' campaign. Shame.

SG, your boy Suh looks the business already. Was throwing (an admittedly makeshift) Broncos o-line about. Bet he would have loved a chance to get his hands on Tebow.

Bears still look dreadful, but at least Matt Forte appears to be off the cakes. Looked fast and ran one home 89 yards against the Raider. Urlacher injured again. Brilliant. This season is going to be one long balls-deep raping with our pants still on. Bye, Lovie.

right, remember the hell Romo got for going to Mexico to shag Simpson? Owen even got hell for organizing a big party. double standards but as I said, the cowboys are still getting 'the light' from the mid 90s. Jerry has cleaned up the team (yes I know you hate him but still) overall the past few years, even trying to rehabilitate some mentally unstable idiots (Pacman, Tank)

Big Ben has no fucked up twice - and for an organization that's normally so 'clean', I'm really surprised he's a Steeler.
