Next Everton manager

Rafa will manage Everton for nothing just to be back to his beloved Liverpool, erm the next best thing is living in Liverpool after his first choice to manage Liverpool again.

Not a chance, Mike. His attachment to this club is too strong IMO. I don't believe they'd ever ask him anyway, for the same reason.

I think it will be Lennon, the timing seems right. I think he'll be an abject failure there.

Dave Whelan, on Tuesday night on Radio 5, said that he's not sure if Martinez would go to Everton because he might be better off waiting for one of the really BIG jobs! Obvioulsy this suggests that Whelan thinks Martinez will manage LFC, United, Chelsea, Arsenal or Spurs at some stage. I want some of what Whelan's on, Martinez is blessed to still have a job at Wigan, and certainly hasn't proved himself worthy of being any higher up the managerial scale.

He wants to hang on to Martinez (rightly or wrongly) and will say whatever he thinks will best achieve that.

In this case he also happens to be right about the Everton job not being as big as those others. 😉

Some managers seem to get jobs in the top flight despite their abilities. This baffles me why the same group of managers are employed over and over again.

I remember when Bryan Robson had been given the managerial role at West Brom (I think) and some pundit had said "if anyone can keep them up, Bryan can". This was the man who managed Middlesbrough, the (then anyway, I don't know if this has changed) most expensively assembled team to have been relegated.

My vote is for Mark Hughes, but unfortunately Kenwright isn't that daft. I hope it isn't Laudrup

Laudrup is hopefully too expensive for them. Swansea would want more than we paid for Rogers. He does seem to be the choice of the Bluenoses I know.

Laudrap distanced himself from Chelsea and real job so can't see him being interested in Everton.

The Everton fans wanting Laudrup are deluded. It would be a sideways move at best. In some ways you could argue it would be a backwards move.

I would be all in favour of Mick McCarthy or Ian Dowie.

With that increasingly slow delivery, asthmatic breathing and melancholic tone, Hughes seems to be turning into Darth Vader. He'd be great there, he'd slot right into the general air of misery, irrational anger and festering bitterness.
