I know most people dislike Newcastle and I'm sure a few really hate the club, the fans etc but I quite like them. A decent club who have had their fair share of good players in the past. I particularly remember Tino Asprilla in the late 90's especially V Barca and the massive 4-3 game with collymore getting the winner.

Well done for bouncing right back up with 6 games to spare, look forward to some big games next season against them

I was happy to see them go down last year because that was a club in serious need of a wake-up call. It seems as though they've bounced back well and with any luck they'll be able to stick around and build on this season.

Yay that's 12 pts guaranteed, probably the difference between champions and 4th. I'm so looking forward to next season already!

I'm not looking forward to the TV shots of those Geordie tw@ts still sitting in their seats crying at the end of the game. :🙂

they're irritating but i always like to see the big clubs in the top flight. i just find it more interesting to have, say, newcastle & west ham in the league than hull and burnley.

It's one of the irritating thing about the Geordies that they think Newcastle is a big club, purely on the grounds that they get 50,000 idiots for every home game. However they haven't won anything in living memory.

i think they are a big club. their support's formidable - if they ever decide to appoint a decent manager they'll be a threat to us, if we've got anything to defend by then, of course.

Good job, with an ok young squad. Glad they've got rid of the overpaid nuggets and got some sensible plans with wage caps etc.

They are a big club, and I think a lot of people are jealous of the stadium and support, as much as they despise the circus that went with it. Hopefully it will be mid table next year, as there won't be any major investment in the squad or manager.

Yeah, should still be 6 points though.......

Chris Hughton has done a superb job there.

That's far and away the best thing about it for me. Hughton played fullback at the top level of the game so I doubt he's a pushover, but he does seem to be one of football's nice guys and it's gratifying to see him do well.
