He'll, sadly, develop into a very good goalkeeper.
It looks like Reinas Liverpool career is coming to an end after this season, if the rumours are to be believed.
Who do you want to sign?
For me its 3-4 players I'd target:
Ter Stegen
Biggest talent in Germany. Going to be a fantastic goalkeeper.
Rumour has is that Victor Valdes will be sold by Barcelona at the end of this season, so they don't lose him for nothing at the end of next season.
Barcelona have apparently reached an agreement with Moenchengladbach for Ter Stegen.
Get a young keeper in who can challenge Reina. A kid thats actually good, not some 19 year old no-one's heard of who will join Accrington Stanley in 6 months.
He does look like he's lost a bit of beef in the past few months and he hasn't been as bad as he was. But he's defo still too flaky for a top side.
Well arguably the idea is that you buy someone who will be better than Reina in that time period. If he hasn't, you've bought the wrong player I guess. And what will happen to him if he doesn't play in 6, 12 or 18 months?
There is no point buying a promising young goalkeeper and then never playing him. The only solution is to have an older backup keeper and if you're buying young you have to go the way we did with that Bulgarian keeper and Chelsea with Courtois.
AS report that Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has received offers to leave Los Blancos in the summer.
The goalkeeper is enduring an indifferent final few months of the season, having been dropped by Coach Jose Mourinho at the turn of the year, then spent two months out injured with a fractured hand, only to see his return to full fitness met with a place back on the bench.
AS say that Casillas, who has spent his entire career at Madrid, has had offers to leave, with Arsenal and Liverpool specifically named.
They follow on from and reiterate the Daily Mail’s assertion from earlier this week that the Gunners will come forward with a €20m bid in the summer, with Arsene Wenger seen as a keen admirer.
Liverpool are also understood to be prepared to come in with an offer to match their Premier League rivals.
Casillas is quoted by AS as having reportedly told close friends that if his current situation with Mourinho continues, then he will have to consider ‘a change of scenery’.
