It looks like Reinas Liverpool career is coming to an end after this season, if the rumours are to be believed.

Who do you want to sign?

For me its 3-4 players I'd target:

Ter Stegen
Biggest talent in Germany. Going to be a fantastic goalkeeper.

Courtois
Will Chelsea ditch Cech? Or will they give this young lad the nr 1 jersey. Will probably become one of the best goalkeepers in the world. Could well leave if Chelsea stay with cech.

Begovic
Developed into a great goalkeeper. Could easily make the step up.

Sergio Romero
Best goalkeeper in the Serie A this season. Played some amazing games and could be a great pick up for us.
 
I'd rather just get Reina a better goalkeeping coach, give him another season to regain his old form and spend money on other areas.
 
Its proably one of the last transfer windows we can get a decent fee for him.
Add that we're not getting anything close to performances that justifies 100k+ in wages pr week.

That said, I really like Pepe and wont mind it that much if he stays. But I dont think he will.
 
Yep. But I'm not convinced there's a really low-risk outstanding candidate out there who would want to come and whom we can afford, so the last decent fee idea doesn't encourage me to want to get rid.

I agree, he's going to be difficult to replace and with it being such a crucial role (and the way we're currently defending), we're going to be re-recruiting for pretty much 3 quarters of the defensive diamond, we haven't had to do that since Houllier took over.

That said, I get the feeling Reina wants to move too.
 
Get Ter Stegen - offer them 10 million + loan back if we keep Reina. He's going to be a great keeper - and there's 0 chance of getting Courtois.
 
Reina has made too many mistakes recently to justify keeping him with the wages he is on. I'm a big Reina fan but at this point it's time to move on.
 
Get the defence sorted out and he'll make far fewer mistakes. Until the defence is sorted out any keeper will look dodgy.

That's two fold, but it's a fair point. The defense can't really be responsible for how slow he gets down to shots though. I'd still keep him mind, I think we'll miss his presence and his ability as a sweeper.
 
For me Reina staying depends on who we can get and at what price.
Reina has one of the lowest, if not the lowest saves to shots ratio in the league at 63%.

That doesnt fill me with confidence.
 
Reina is quite rightly still worth a lot of money. But by the time we're ready to challenge for the top 4 again, his age and his growing gut will make him a liability in important games. I would sell him now, even if it's to keep the money safe for a year or two down the line when better candidates become available.

Reina is only 30. He can potentially perform at a high level for another 8-10 years. Hire that goalkeeping coach which Rafa had. Surely he must be out of job after this season.
 
I'm not sure if Valero can suddenly make Reina stop shots he hasnt be able to save the last few seasons
 
Someone solid who doesn't cost the earth. I don't want to be spending £15M on a goalkeeper in the summer.
 
I don't think we need to fix something that isn't massively broken.

Unless Reina wants to go or we get a mad offer from A.Madrid or Barca or Real Madrid make good on their threats to recruit a new first choice keeper I wouldn't bother getting someone new in.
 
He does look like he's lost a bit of beef in the past few months and he hasn't been as bad as he was. But he's defo still too flaky for a top side.
 
Unless we can get the next best thing there is no point getting another keeper unless Pepe wants to go.

First priority is a commanding centre back, and perhaps then a left back. Hopefully Allen will come good again in midfield (he was superb when he first arrived) but we need to find Gerrard's long-term replacement. We've got a air few decent centre mids but they're no top drawer.

I'd also like to see us get Lukaku in up front assuming Chelsea would sell.
 
This centre half everyone keeps saying we need... did the other ones just turn shit? I thought that it was just because they keep getting told to be tippy tappy bellends. If defenders were any good at footy they wouldn't be defenders.
 
Wouldn't have Vorm anywhere near our team. He's not big enough nor is he anywhere near good enough to be world class.
