It wasn't a one off. The problem is the host, Cameroun, where summer football is nigh on impossible, You go figure ..,

Why is it nigh on impossible during Jun-Aug? It's in the tropics. It's pretty much the same all year round I thought?
I lived & worked in Nigeria for 5 years (Lagos & Owerri). The Harmattan, brings huge dust storms from the Sahara through the whole of West Africa around January - February but can come late (into March), there's no forecasting it's exact timing. It's insane, choking so sport is out, and all flights are cancelled at that time.

Then follows the rainy season with huge deluges (Summer). Temperatures don't vary that much throughout the year (ca. 30C) and actually the dry Winter is hotter. There's no perfect month - maybe April or December (Cameroun is next door so very similar though of course geographical locations (high plateaus or by the sea - e.g. Lagos) will naturally make a difference. Not really feasible months!
