This is the Keita we thought we’d signed. From the moment he came on, he looked full of determination and purpose and adrenaline, always taking players on, never settling for an easy option. He’s one of the few midfielders in the EPL who has the talent to play like that and pull it off; now is there any way Klopp can make him remember how this game felt and do it every time?

What I really enjoy about Keita is he has a plan mapped out before he's got the ball.

Thiago already has a pass in mind.
Chamberlain is going to drive at the centre of the box and see what happens

Keita, in contrast, has a neat dribbling path mapped out, seems to anticipate areas that will open up for him, and an decent short ball in mind. He also knows when to sit off and expect the easy return and also drive forward to receive the ball.

I think he benefits, in a way, from opposition players not having the time to figure him out just yet. He's a deceiving effective in the attacking areas.

All the subs deserved huge credit for transforming that game.

In fairness, he has Naby spot on there. But imagine being publicly described as fragile!

Presumably he's only planning on playing him for one game at the most then, given he knows he'll definitely get injured!

I’ve always liked his talent and skill set, but yeh his injuries have really cost him. Shame

Didnt they play him when he was unfit and carried a knock, so he returned injured?
We pay his wages, they’ll have to adapt mid season.

He's just been appointed coach. He wasn't on board when they injured Naby.

But Euro club bashing seems to be in fashion for insecure coaches preemptively looking for excuses.

A bit of sensitivity from both sides here I guess in general with AFCON.
The timing of it in Jan is always an issue with players being released a few days before or even during it for latter stages only.
Doesn’t really happen with Euros. There is a lack of feeling disrespect for the tournament they probably rightly feel and ultimately the players want to play in it so no point moaning about it now as we known all season this was on.

I remember a while back was in summer back in 2017, not sure if that was a one off. Maybe it may get moved back to summer in the future.

It wasn't a one off. The problem is the host, Cameroun, where summer football is nigh on impossible, You go figure ..,

This is where FIFA have to step in. Have clearly defined time slots reserved for international tournaments and matches. If that happens, it will be better for the players as well as the tournaments. For example, if there is no other football happening during the AFCON, fans will tune in and watch those games which can lead to higher viewership.

We can always follow Burnley’s transfer policy in the future 😉

Why is it nigh on impossible during Jun-Aug? It's in the tropics. It's pretty much the same all year round I thought?
