Naby Keita

Disappointing that Naby keeps stalling as a Liverpool player. All the more so as expectations have been justifiably high. It is for this that I desperately want to see him succeed. Naby reaching his potential would raise our team a level. Nobody else has that potential currently on the squad - by that I mean that Van Dijk, Robertson, Mane etc are all performing at or above expected levels. "Wiser" heads may write Naby off (as some of them have been happy to do from his early days). I don't understand that mentality. While he is a Liverpool player I will be hoping he can stay fit, and can develop his game to the level Klopp bought him for.

How does a player stay fit?

Surely if anyone knew no player would suffer re-occurring problems yet so many do.

Lallana Clyne Sturridge Gomez Ox Lovren Matip.

If you're an injury prone player do you really ever recover?

Virgil Mane Mo Bobby - we're very lucky these never really have had major problems.

You're either prone to injury or you're not.

Sounds logical but isn't true. We're at that point in medical sports science where we can determine the source of your injury problem in many cases. Could be an underlying back problem that causes you to run in a way that makes you susceptible to groin injuries or it could be a weak core etc.

Which is why nobody is ever injured anymore, and all players are injured as often as others.

Haters gonna hate.

One thing I agree on though is that just as he hits some form and looks the part, he gets an injury.
Frustrating.

I guess I put more emphasis on mindset than you.

Decent offer comes in for either Kieta or Ox, I would sell. Just too unreliable to even be squad players

Wanting someone to succeed while expressing an opinion that they either aren’t a success at the moment or that you doubt that they will succeed in the future are not mutually exclusive.

Speaking as someone who was perfectly fit for most of my life and then one lower back injury, which has thrown my whole body out of loop, I fully agree. Could be one thing that has affected everything else. Fortunately he's got the best people around him to figure it out. However, everyone's bodies are different and who's to say he will ever be 100% again.

No, because they aren't.

Keita has had 6 separate injuries since he was officially a Liverpool player, one that curtailed the entirety of a pre-season and the other 5 that have caused him to be unavailable for 20 games in total, across a period of 139 days.

In less than two seasons.

Cheers, and thanks for playing. Next.
I'm not arguing if he's injury prone or not, I'm just pointing out that's its unfair to use this injury in making an argument that he is, considering two players who clearly aren't injury prone picked up similar injuries in the same circumstances.

Wow, me too. Herniated disc. Keep getting muscle injuries around the core area, back, groin etc.

Yes it fucking is.

Milner is 105 and played two high intensity games 3 days apart.

Gini has played loads this season and over the last 2 years with little to no break. It’s no wonder he got injured.

Naby has played fuck all in the last 12 months compared and has 6000 injuries.

Go see Dan O’Neill in Carlow. He’ll fix your back.

He’s a bone setter and has helped thousands of people in similar situations

You've just proven my point, if two people who clearly aren't injury prone got injured in the same period due to the intensity, you can't really use it as an argument the third is injury prone.

You convienently gloss over the fact that Naby played a lot of games in December, more than Milner, and some days apart.

You can use all his other injuries outside of this period of course, but that wasn't the point I was making.

Of course, you are right. My problem is with people who single out the same player time and time again, leaving the impression that they would hate to see the player improve, lessening their "expert" analysis.

No I haven’t. A huge factor in their injuries was a build up of tiredness over the last 12 months. Keita has fuck all to be tired for.

Its why Gomez has come in and played every game and not got injured. He’s young and fresh as fuck.

I don’t agree on that.

As for me I’ve made no secret of the fact I don’t think he’ll make it but was one of the first to praise the difference he made when he came on against Utd, or in other games he’s done well in.

Did I log onto BlueFume by mistake ?

You know this how ? And you go on to use a single example (Gomez) to weigh against another single example ? Wow that clinches it then.
