Total mismatch in midfield, you can add Flanagan and Cissokho to the comparison and it still looks one sided. We were always going to struggle in midfield, we needed extra bodies in there.

To be fair Woland, you've been pretty quiet over the last two months when Henderson's been playing very well. Bit rich to be coming in now after he's had one bad game.

I've given Horrenderson plenty of praise this season. I think I said he was our best player against Palace. But him and his mate get shown up against decent teams.

And it's not like he was even the worst of middle 3.

He was probably the best, with Lucas a little behind.

Gerrard was rubbish, again

The three of them were poor, it's pointless trying to gauge how shit they were, none of them were good enough, it was a poor set up and the midfield has been poor for a good few years now, it's certainly not been consistent enough anyway because, as we've said, Lucas isn't good enough to do it everyweek or consistently enough against good sides, Gerrard is on the slide and playing in the wrong position, while Hendo has improved massively but is still found wanting in alot of games.

We need to move Gerrard and we need to invest. We knew that already, no amount of "one player is a bit more shitter than another player" is going to change the fact that this midfield isn't going to get us anywhere.

I thought we'd just played an in-form top of the table team on their home turf. I find it incredulous that they should have the temerity to play well and be the better team on the day. Down with all that.

We are all aware that our midfield is the weakest part of the team. I'm sure it'll be addressed in due course. Hopefully in January.

Even in this game we created a couple of great chances which on another day would've been converted and we'd have hailed any kind of result as a sign of our progression.

Next weeks opposition are a different prospect and we should look to a game plan to beat them and maintain our good early season form.

We're doing much better than I thought we would at this stage. The Southampton game was a disappointment and a shock, to my mind this wasn't.

Arsenal were great value for the win but had the ref allowed Henderson's goal from a quick thinking Suarez, it may well have changed the complexion of the game and the result.

BR in my mind started with the wrong formation and when he changed things up for the 2nd half, we were always in the game. On another day the result could have been different. What we need to do is learn from this game and move on. In spite of our poor midfield, we're still getting the results.

I'll take 5 points off the top but need to be a lot more ruthless in front of goal while our defence needs to tighten up.

Hendo to carry us when Gerrard retires, mark my words here in SCM. The lad just needs more confidence with the ball, against Arsenal he missed few chances but he surely brought ball forward few times when his MF mates were falling apart. I seriously wont mind dropping Gerrard and Lucas both in between for 1-2 matches whenever possible. We should use Gerrard more effectively before Gerrard's legs burn out.

Is confidence on the ball the issue with Henderson or maybe he's just shite with the ball.
I dunno what the problem is anymore but our midfield is awful when it's not ticking.
Maybe it's the manager or maybe it's an ability issue either way it needs to be sorted quick or top 4 is a pipe dream.

Jan window we must biy a frrracking beast in midfield. I will go for a DM or a CM who can control the game, a so called 'game controller' which BR seems to have in his mind. After conceding so many goals in last few matches, the spending in summer seems to be a total waste.

The first thing I would do is drop Lucas and play Allen. He would have seen from the bench that Lucas got shoved off the ball and then casually jogged back. That shit is not on, he's not 33 years old like Gerrard, if Allen has to sit there and watch that then still be on the bench the following game, it will take the piss.

They're both shit. Can't wait to see the back of them, although probably won't happen.

Gerrard get 4 assists today? Shit isn't he?

Today no, last week yes

Its one thing dominating a team that didnt want to be there like Fulham, but when Arsenal took the game to us last week Gerrard and Lucas didnt want to know

Hmm that's selective bollocks in my opinion. Last week he was anonymous, didn't seem to give a fuck and our team lacked captaincy when we needed it most.

Yesterday he was outstanding. It's no surprise that he looked more effective playing in a more forward role and against lesser opposition who made little or no effort to track back or to play any sort of pressing game.

Is he shit? Of course not! Was his performance last week abysmal? Of course it was!

Henderson is becoming one of my favourite players tbh. Runs all day, plays with his heart on his sleeve and his performances just keep on improving. Add a few goals to his game and he's flying.

If you think Henderson is a bad player then i'm afraid you have a very narrow idea of what makes a good footballer

He's not a bad player but I don't think he'll ever be a top player. Good pass to Suarez yesterday for the first and did well to press for Suarez's second, though.
