I hate the man after his shitehouse tactics at Chelsea came and stole away a title from us.
Gerrard's slip was the focus. And not the 90mins of time wasting his team employed that day. It was a gutless display of cowardice from a so-called "top side". Why not outplay us fairly? Why the need for such gamesmanship? I still think only 30mins of actual football was played that day. Someone should go back and time it. It was ridiculous.
So seeing him sacked, after a loss at Anfield, is poetic justic in a way. But I was actually coming around to warming to the fella, as he seemed to accept the defeat at Anfield with a measure of "grace" (blaming luck and not referees/linemans; that was a big step forward for him; "progress").
He was also in visible pain each week on the touchline, and I admired him for sticking through this. He deserved it. It felt like watching him suffer and bring United down with him, well, the wounds of that Chelsea shitehousery began to heal. Full forgiveness could have been given, had he sold Pogba and had Martial/De Gea leave the club. Hell, i'd have been a fan of his for life, if he been given another year to ensure their relegation from the division.
But alas, he's gone, and the bleeding at United has stopped. Jose gets a massive 20 odd million pay off and United can actually move forward again. So yeah, he didn't achieve the necessary failure at United for me to ever forgive him.
Such a shame. The cunt.
