Liverpool are preparing to renew their interest in Stoke City captain and former Manchester United trainee Ryan Shawcross according to reports in local Staffordshire press.

That is totally made up, i read the staffordshire press and i haven't seen that anywhere... not a sniff...

I do rate shawcross though, tough fucker he is.

skrtel's positioning is still all over the place, he is a penalty waiting to happen.
[/quote]

You keep saying this, I've seen him shrugged off possession to lead to a goal once (against the Hammers last season) and I don't think I've seen him concede a penalty. And for all the posturing of Agger returning to give us balance, blah blah usual bollocks, he never shores up the defence, so the whole "keeping possession with Agger will help stop us conceding" is bullshit too, because we're still conceding and have done when he's played.

Has our goals against ever rapidly (or at all) changed when he's been in the lineup? The problem as said throughout is with the lack of a presence at the back and no amount of tippy tappy bollocks will cure that.

skrtel is injuried anyway, I wouldn't worry about skrtel getting his place back in the side as agger is bound to crock himself after a handful of games.

So the consensus is that Agger is the only half decent centre half we have and unreliable at that.

Wilson is gone, Skrtel is crocked, the Greek will get shipped and Carra is ready to coach. That's a fuckin' bleek picture. S.O.S .to Cahill!

I'm sure we will sign another centre half...no idea who as we've been linked with about 30 different ones.

Im sure we will get one.

There's no such "consensus", Wilson hasn't actually gone anywhere (though it may still happen), Skrtel is injured but not seriously, Kyrgiakos may well leave but hasn't so far and Carra, though in the twilight of his career, is by no means finished yet.

Still, spot on about Cahill.

Skrtel has had a setback in his recovery and must be rated doubtful for the start of the season at this stage

Liverpool will make a last ditch offer of £10million plus midfielder Christian Poulsen to Stoke City for captain Ryan Shawcross.

The Reds are in need of central defensive cover because of doubts over Jamie Carragher and Sotirios Kyrgiakos' long-term futures and Daniel Agger's fitness.

Anfield boss Kenny Dalglish has already had a £10million offer rejected by the Potters who want closer to £18million for the club skipper.

The 23-year-old has impressed with his no-nonsense approach to defending and fits into Dalglish's policy of buying young British talent.

Dalglish will put his offer forward as he is aware the transfer window will soon close and he needs a centre-back in the club now rather than in January.

Mother fucking lol!!

That's right Mr Pulis, Christian Poulsen is worth £8m.

Can't blame Pulis for trying. Phil Jones went for 16m, after 35 games for Blackburn. Don't see why he shouldn't try and scalp a bit more for a more experienced player (135 games) who is just 2 years older. Not that I think Shawcross is the better player - it's just logical for Pulis to try and push the envelope, especially if he's not desperate to sell.

Yeah, I think the point was that our offer is not exactly tempting. 10m + Poulsen is actually about 7m in real money.

Anyway, it looks like 10m is all we've got left in the piggy-bank, so Cahill seems unlikely now.

I really really wish we hadn't spent all that money on Henderson! What were we thinking?

That Gerrard is fucked?

I think come the end of the season, Henderson will have come good.

I'm sure there are others we have hanging around who we can throw into the deal as well as Poulsen.

I mean, Pulis has signed some shit players before - Salif Diao has been there for years for example
