Better shot/goal conversion than any other play in prem top 10 goalscorers - 71%

13 goals in 19 matches across all comps... Wowzers (woops inc 1 egypt performance and two friendlies)

His shot accuracy is 71% - so a high percentage are on target, but for me thats more on account of where he shoots from than anything else. (only one attempt from outside the box)

His shot conversion is 21% which is still high.

He misses some great chances but his combination of workrate and intelligence ensures he gets plenty.

If you want some accurate stats to demonstrate how good he has been, try these:

He has outscored Neymar so far.

He has scored one less than Chelsea's front three combined.

He has more shots on target than Swansea.

With regards his on-target shots. It's actually quite remarkable .. 24 out of 35 I read somewhere today (Echo probably) !

Yep he's fucking mustard alright. I love the Egyptian Duracell Bunny. There's one signing right there that the club should be proud of. Even now I think £35mill was a snip.

I was sceptical about the signing, but when he arrived I said I'd give him a fair go and he's more than repaid that. Haven't seen a defender yet who can get anywhere near him in a foot race, but there's more to him than that - his runs are positive and dangerous and, though his finishing still needs a bit of work, the figures above show that it starts from a pretty good base already.

He's magic ay.
I wasn't massively convinced about the signing but fucking hell he's on fire.

I really hope January sees us.
Sell Coutinho
Sign a CB
Sign a DAM
Sign a CF
To compliment these fucking lads.

We need a goalkeeper aswell, obviously.

You WANT to see Coutihno sold?

Irrespective of whether he does go just yet, a CB is a must, asit was in the summer. Id like a goalscorer too obvs but Firmino walks on water for Klopp, seemingly.
Yeah. He looks to me lazy and disinterested. A shadow of an 80m player.
I'd sell him in January and rebuild for tail end of the season to assault 4th.
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure our results this season have been good with Coutinho not in the team and shit when he is in the team.

He doesnt seem bothered at all to me.

While I don't have up-to-the-minute stats, as at the end of September we were both scoring and winning more with him than without him. Not saying I wouldn't sell, but the fee would have to be a sight more than £80 mill.

Coutinho was never going to stay long terms after the way he acted in the summer, best case was always that he works his socks off and we sell for loads in the summer.
If he doesn't work his socks off and doesn't look bothered we should look for the 100+ in Jan

Not sure how the deals are structured and all that, but looking closer to home and our bitter neighbours, they must be quite miffed that we paid £10m less for Salah than they did for Gylfi Sigurdsson, even if it is, as they say, "early days".

Those deals look more and more ludicrous every week, although nobody here wanted us to buy Gylfi.

Although a few said he'd be a good signing for Everton.

It was the standout shit deal of the summer

I read some interesting stats about him, he had less touches than almost any other midfield player in the league last season, and had something like 106 shots at goal (and scored about 6 of them).

So in essence, as soon as he got the ball he either had a shot, or crossed it.

There was virtually no other assists created by passes or through balls, he didn't beat his man (no pace), doesn't do one-twos, he just takes set-pieces, shoots or crosses.

That's it. That's his entire game.

As soon as Everton were linked with him i was saying to my Everton mate he would be shit for Everton under Koeman whereas my Everton mate thought he'd be a great signing. Problem is he can only play well if you build the team around him which Koeman was never going to do. Its the only reason he stood out at Swansea. I swear there were a few on here that wanted us to sign him.

Not at the £40m price touted though

No there were a few that were saying how 45m is the new 15-20m and how we're underestimating him blah blah blah.

Looks like only Pickford has been anywhere near decent. The Bitters have turned on Gylfi and that other cunt from Holland who seems to have been entirely discarded. Poor old Keane is also being roasted.

I actually quite liked him from what little I saw of him at Burnley, but he's been fucking dreadful, and long may it continue

Luckily, the quacking mong ratio was upheld by Dreamy: "Another great addition for them", who also suggested he would be a good replacement for Coutinho:
"I'd have taken him at Liverpool with Coutinho looking set to leave"

And obviously Modo: "With Sigurdsson, it's probably the best Everton team I've seen. "

Heh heh.

Although I did think they'd done OK business, or at least better than it seems to have turned out, because I quite liked Pickford and Keane, even if the loss of Lukaku was obviously going to be a disaster, and one they didn't address.

Compared to United we've had a far harder schedule. We are only 4 points off 2nd. And you think we should fight for 4th at the tail end of the season ? I forecast 4th for us pre-season and my confidence is actually growing we can do better, especially considering the games we've got through and without Mane, Lallana and Coutinho for the majority of them.

A slender Charlie Adam

There was an article I think on f365 which pointed out how heavily skewed Gylfi's stats were due to set pieces.

On Salah, I was a bit apprehensive about his signing but cannot argue with those numbers. Klopp really knows his wingers.

I always dread opening old threads and wondering what the hell I said about deals but I think most called this spot on. He hasn't really been 'shite' but it doesn't really help to buy a man known for his delivery when a) you have a left back also known as one of the best for that and b) you've just sold your target man centre forward. Tough job for Gylfi to do anything in that situation. Looks like being one of the worst transfers of the season so far.

If you were ever wrong you were just playing devil's advocate for the sake of the discussion

I often claim that I was simply 'starting the conversation' before deleting everything and changing my username

This has nothing to do with what we are talking about.
