No, not a guarantee. But he does seem the type of persoanlity who would never give anything less than his best on the pitch.
Unlike a few other players who have spat their dummy out in the past, Berbacunt for example.
 
True - that's the thing with Masher, he's clearly a bit of a snide cunt, but he works his bollocks off for our club.

I'm not sure what to make of him at times.
 
He was pretty poor at the start of last season - partly, I suspect, because he was upset at not going to Barca. That would be even more likely this season if we held on to him. And Inter would have us over a barrel wrt to the price if he got into the last year of his contract.
 
They've apperantly stolen the story from a not to serious source I see now, so hopefully this is bollocks.

If he's signing two midfielders then fine (ish), but if we miss out on Defour and get Poulsen I'll cry.

Me too, Footy 365 are saying that Ozil expects to see out the remaining year of his contract, but i suspect that Bremen will want to get something for him after the world cup he had instead of losing him for free next year. I hope we sign him and Defour, but fear it will be more like Poulsen and a Donkey striker!
 
Was told that we are not actually looking at Defour, but we are looking at Cyriac Gohi Bi and Edouard Kabamba.
 
has there been any rumours about mascher and botelli(?) being swapped? I think that could be interesting if we still have 10m from other sources to buy a mascher replacement. it would provide us with a more than competent back up to torres when he in injured.

From what I have heard we are not getting what we expected for Mascher, I hear its going to be low twenties. Obviously hope its bollocks, my mate said he had heard that Inter are playing games knowing we are skint and need this money to reinvest in the squad. I think Inter value Balotelli's fee higher than Mascherano's.
 
All of that's to be expected really.

I don't want Balotelli anyway. He's the kind of player that a club like Citeh, with money coming out of every orifice, can afford to gamble on. We can't.

I dunno, I look at it differently.

If I were Citeh, I'd be buying quality without any danger of bad temperament. Basically that type of player you tend to get for slightly less than others & you're more likely to get without being able to offer real title chances etc.

The situation we're in, I think gambling on players like that is more likely.

cheers, in the current marker I think there valuation is not that apart, but it does not look like it is going to happen

I think Balotelli is nailed on for city. Dont think this move has ever been in danger, I imagine he'd be greedy.

I find that strange tbh, Cyriac Gohi Bi and Edouard Kabamba have played next to no games for Standard. 19 and 20 years old.
Gohi was on the bench and played 30 mins, while the other one wasn't even on the bench.

Someone over on TIA knows that Roy is an admirer of Defour, and that he was acutally going to see the game himself.

I hope to God that isn't the case and we scouted these two, if Macia was there he's probably screaming sign them from that cameo.

I see what you're saying, Foxy, but I'm not persuaded. I doubt Citeh will get anyone for slightly less than might be expected - on the contrary, everyone will be out to screw them price-wise, so they may well not stand to benefit form the kind of "fruitcake discount" you're referring to. Having said that, I reckon their owners' bottomless pockets mean they won't care anyway, so if they want somebody they'll go for him regardless. We on the other hand can barely afford the next loo roll, let alone the kind of money we'd have to shell out to get someone like Balotelli.

I heard Chelsea were in for about 20 million Euros. Probably a smart move to go to a small club in europe and actually play like this lads done, now hes about to get his move to a top side.

Defour sounds like the best potential for a reasonable fee.
