As has been confirmed in France, Sylvain Marveaux has failed his #LFC medical. Move not completely dead, but now in severe doubt.

How the fuck do you fail a medical at Liverpool?
[/quote]

Quite. Even Aquilani successfully fogged a mirror.

If the failed medical is true, it's a sign of better, more responsible ownership and leadership.

The last one must have been that bloke who turned up pissed when shanks was still in charge. I forget his name.

Frank Worthington?

I think so yes

I always wrongly think its Frank Stapleton.

They were concerned about his high blood pressure so Shanks told him to take a holiday. Worthington took the advice on the holiday but instead of lying on the beach for a week, decided to go on the piss.

One of football's great wasted talents.

Have to agree

The Aussie quack must put them through their paces, good on him.
Lets hope this lad was just squad filler and not seen as a first team regular.

Barrett's stole my line!

Before Marveaux, was Frank Worthington the last player to fail a Liverpool medical? Even Aquilani passed his!

Liverpool's Bosman move for Sylvain Marveaux was in danger of collapsing last night after the Frenchman failed a medical.

Liverpool’s medical team assessed Marveaux yesterday at their Melwood base and the tests revealed a problem with his groin.

Marveaux suffered a serious injury to his groin playing for Rennes last season against Brest and the problem still hasn’t cleared up completely.

The winger was set to join Liverpool on a free from Rennes and sign a five-year deal worth £60,000-a-week on July 1. But his move is now on hold as Liverpool decide on their next move.

The Reds tracked Marveaux for most of last season after he was spotted by director of football Damien Comolli.

Comolli invited him to Anfield last season to watch a match and felt he could boost their options out wide as they search for wingers to supply Andy Carroll.

Marveaux’s failed medical is the latest setback for Liverpool this summer, after they lost out on Phil Jones and Ashley Young to Manchester United.

Would be marvaeuxless if he didn't sign

post of the day.

Rennes midfielder Sylvain Marveaux has underlined that his transfer to Liverpool fell through because he could not agree personal terms with the Premier League side.

The former France Under-21 international appeared set to sign for Liverpool on a free transfer from Rennes to put a couple of disappointing seasons, marred by injuries, behind him, but the move collapsed on Friday.

Reports in France suggested the transfer did not go ahead as Marveaux could not pass a medical at Liverpool, but the midfielder has now declared that was not the source of the problem.

"I do not want to go into details, but if I have not signed for Liverpool, it was because there was a contractual disagreement between the involved parties, Thursday evening," he told L'Equipe.

Marveaux, who stated he was 'disgusted' to hear such reports about him, stressed he is fit to play. "Today, I can undergo a medical before you and you will see there is no problem,"
said the 25-year-old, who made just 10 appearances for Rennes in 2010-11.

The personal term he's talking about must be the clause in the contract that says he must pass the medical.

All right, so we couldn't agree. No loss - was always afraid of this risky business, given his injury history. Probably swerved one there, especially it's for the 60m/week wage that's been rumoured.
