JAR was a beast.
FAR too soon to be making comparisons with Enrique.

It's not old chum, one is a defender and the other wasn't, I think all the lurve that JAR gets on here is because he was around during a lot of peoples formative years.
These are the ones I have seen during my formative years. The only one I did not see make his debut was Gerry Byrne
Gerry Byrne, good footballer, good defender and hard as nails
Alec Lyndsay, good defender hard as nails, also a blistering shot
Joey Jones, what can you say about Joey, enthusiasm in spades and good at kicking people
Alan Kennedy I suppose our first attacking attacking left back, or a defender that could get forward, he had pace too
Steve Nichol our greatest right back and could always play left back to a great standard too, great defender and an intelligent player with an eye for a pass
Gary Ablett RIP, nice guy , but that's about it
Jim Beglin, not a bad player but a bit luke warm,
Stig, hmmmm I think he was better than some people give him credit for , hardworking and honest but apt to get caught out of position
David Burrows (see Joey Jones) but without the ability to kick people
JAR, said it all, not the best defender good going forward the Glenjo of the left
Enrique, has the ability to be up there with the best , ie Alan Kennedy and Steve Nichol
JAR comes above Beglin, Ablett and possibly level with Joey
Well that is my informed opinion anyway.
