so chuffed with the way we won. Especially how we won despite the fact that the SAS look like they had never played together before, both completely selfish and being picky Studge's right foot showed him up again !!!

Ditto. Still in a state of shock really. I kept expecting this onslaught, but it never game. BR is a genius, we outsmarted them, out fought them and outplayed them. We made them look like a mid-table epl team - oh, I forgot, that's what they are!!!!

I was always quietly confident. I stress the quietly confident. That's why I was telling people about the 2/1 available on us to win.
But we bossed that from start to finish and saw what a bunch of gnarly, inept, cunts that lot are. When did Rafael begin to think he was some sort of hard man?
Plus the ref? Well it's hard to be picky when he gives us 2 pens and sends one of theirs off BUT Rafael should have gone, if not for the handball then for one of the many other nasty fouls he committed. Gerrards was never a booking and Flanagan should have seen red for his trademark stamp tackle when he's pissed off - he needs to curb that and quick cos he was already on a booking.

What was Stevie so 'unhappy' about after his first peno?
Well I think it's time to single out the players.
RATINGS:
Mignolet 7 - Didn't have much to do but had a decent game anyway.
Johnson 7 - Looks rejuvenated since coming back from injury. Got caught out one or two times but all in all a very good performance today defensively and offensively.
Agger 7 - Love that we have a player at the back who can move the ball forward. Looked very confident and in control especially when he had the ball.
Skrtel 7 - A rock. Blocked many attempts by Man U that could have been dangerous. Didn't give Van Persie a yard.
Flanagan 7 - He's not the most elegant player you'll see on the pitch but his attitude is second to none. He can be rash at times, you can question his positioning but the kid is growing on me. I'm absolutely delighted with his performance today. I expected Brendan to sub him after those rash challenges he made after getting yellow carded but I guess Brendan had a talk with him and Flanno responded by showing maturity and discipline.
Allen 8 - What a runner. Worked his socks off in midfield and didn't give their midfielders a second on the ball. Fellaini got owned in midfield thanks to him. Got forward and won us a penalty as well, which is a plus.
Henderson 7 - Did what I expect from him today. Worked in tandem with Allen in midfield and closed their players down during the entire game. His passing was a bit erratic though,
Gerrard 8 MOM - Scored two important penalties. Lead from the back and showed what a captain he is. Didn't get forward as much as we expect him to but that was because of his defensive role in midfield. Disciplined performance.
Sterling 6 - Not his best performance but still worked his socks off. Ran up and down the pitch during the 70 minutes he played and helped in defence. Looked jaded when he got subbed.
Sturridge 6 - Same here. Tried, tried and tried again. Got a lot of attention from their defenders but still managed to win us a penalty and most importantly get a player sent off.
Suarez 8 - Not his best performance by his standards but like Sturridge won us a penalty, scored and looked dangerous throughout the game.
Brendan 10 - Picked the right team, played the right tactics and got us an amazing result. Take a bow.

I think he didn't want to us to start celebrating too early. I think it was a good move. He's been around for a while and he knows how games can turn around.
Let me remind you that we scored the first goal against City and Chelsea as well.

It's just a hunch but I think Steve Peters has helped Gerrard with his penalties. He's always had the technique but there have been times when he has 'lost' it a bit. Now the goal looks huge when he stands there. If anything he was too cocky with the last one but generally his kicks have looked so calm recently.

If Holding had run in at the pace Sturridge has, he'd have killed somebody somewhere along the line.
