I know it's early, but this is more a thread of my excitement rather than a match thread. I know there is a very real chance we'll lose, maybe even heavily, on Sunday, but I cannot wait. I think it's going to be a cracking match and a very open attacking match. If they have a weakness, it's at the back for Man City, they, rightly, try to score more than they concede, as opposed to concentrating on winning with a clean sheet. We should play a similar team as yesterday. Suarez, Bellamy and co will cause them havoc, Silva, Tagliatelle and co will cause us havoc. I don't know why but this game almost has the feel of the European games under Rafa, it'll be a cracker, and if we're up for it and on form, we could nick it 2-1/3-2. Suarez will be pumped and a monster for this game.

when I saw city v spurs I thought they would drop many points over the coming season. spurs were actually quite good on the day but city were just another level above them.
I think they'll win the league at a canter, manu look decidedly average.

Trying not to wear blinkers here but I simply can't see us losing 'heavily' to anyone.

With the ammount of class all over the pitch and the increasing belief in own strengths we're going to get even better.

I reckon we're in with a good chance of getting all three points.

Certainly am excited already too!!!

That is the real frustration for me. Both Man U & Chelsea are currently average but they will strengthen either at Xmas or next summer. I am afraid of neither and have said so since the summer. Obviously Citeh are doing very well, but we should be challenging them not Utd. The difference is finishing. We effectively dropped 4 points at home to newly promoted teams, yet Utd went to Swansea, didn't play well but got a goal. Their midfield is soft as shyte and their defence unsettled. The same could be said of Chelsea. We should be above these feckers, and would be if we'd stuck with what was working well last year, as yesterday proved.

See my other thread.

It's a locked on 3 points for us to end their unbeaten run and open the door for Utd.

Ha... lightning doesn't strike twice and all that, quit while you're ahead Pat!

The two best teams in England currently are Spurs and City.
Spurs handed us our arses and I dont think this will be any different.
A good result against a weak Chelsea team isnt suddenly making us world beaters.

We'll do well to get a point.

far be it for me to give kenny advice but I would advice we push city as far away from our penalty area as possible and take our chances we wont get caught behind by their pass.
silva, nasri, aguero in and around your area are really difficult to pick so defending deep is asking for trouble I would rather take our chances against their pace rather their neat, intricate triangles.

spurs was a bad day at the office and nothing more, too many people didn't turn up.
spurs are good, city are awesome.

I rate Spurs as highly individually as I do Man U & Chavs. It's just that Utd keep picking up points even when they're shit. I would back us to compete regularly with anyone in the top 7 except Citeh, who we'd need some luck with.

This is why I'm so pissed off. We should be competing for 2nd, not 4th......

*Edit whilst aiming for 1st of course.....

Spurs handed us our arses (and generally do at WHL) when we were out of sorts and two men down. We can do them, it'll be difficult and we'll have to play and fight as a team like we did yesterday, but it's doable.

hey, I'm not saying spurs aren't good, they patently are I'm saying if city are a '10' and were a '7' then spurs is an '8' there is not that big a gap between us. look at the side we fielded yesterday (with no gerrard I might add) that is more than a match of what spurs can field.

they were on top before that but had we kept all our players on the pitch I have no doubt we would have got our second wind and had a proper go second half.
City have got us then Chelsea. Im not saying they WONT win both or either of them as they are a class team but lets just say they lose both (because its possible, its not like they are playing Swansea and Blackburn) we will be 6pts behind them.
They also have Arsenal 2 weeks later.
If and its a huge IF, we go into our fantastic christmas list with a 6 point gap then why not dream high.
Weve played Arsenal, Spurs, United, Chelsea, Stoke and Everton already and come out of it 'ok'
they have only played Tottenham, Everton and United.
They are scintilating but they arent over the hills yet, between now and January 4th they have Chelsea, Us, Arsenal, Stoke then us again.
There last 4 was Qpr, wolves, newcastle and united.

We need to start winning our home games or look back saying what if.

That makes Norwich & Swansea at home even more annoying Andy.
For me it makes the signing of Henderson and Downing all the more annoying.
Maxi and Meireles are far better footballers.
Hey ho. All history is bunk.

I was looking earlier, I know they had a tough start but there last few games and the next 4 or 5 games for Spurs are piss easy, until the 22nd of December, when they play Chelsea, they have such a easy run. There last four games have been Fulham, QPR, Blackburn and Newcastle, and until Chelsea it is West Brom, Bolton, Stoke and Sunderland. Really easy, the one tough game against Newcastle was the one which they struggled with, the game before they played Arsenal and won, but Arsenal were in the shit then.

The point i'm trying to make it I hope the opposition has been flattering them somewhat, hopefully when they face some top teams again, they'll start to falter.

Although to be honesty my opinions shouldn't really count on this matter because of my immense hatred of that pathetic little club.

We've already lost to Spurs "heavily"!

The thing about Spurs though. They often perform to the exact opposite level than you'll expect them to. In example, easy run in, they'll probably lose and draw a lot. Tough opponents and they are performing above their level.

Untill I see a clear indication as to whether they've put that behind them for good I don't fear them over the course of a Season.

And honestly although Arsenal has impressed me of late (RvP at least) I can't see them hold on to the top either.

We have indeed.

We've improved immensely since that performance however why I reckon we won't see such a poor performance again. You'll never know of course but the team is looking much more in harmony and the new players are really starting to gel.

We signed Downing cos we had no-one to give the ammo to our record signing that doesn't play. Henderson will come good eventually I think but Downing & Carroll are a waste of money.

That statement doesn't seem wrong either, no.

We've still managed to enter the top 4 on many more occasions than Spurs of late mind, why I reckon we've still got the upper hand.

I said in the other thread at the beginning that I was along for the crazy Chavski/Citeh ride and I haven't jumped off yet. We're going to see this thing through together.

Dreamy and I are like characters in an action movie that have inadvertently got handcuffed together and are getting chased by (mafia/police/psychopath etc.) and despite initially being intensely irritated by one another, grudgingly learn respect and friendship.
