you have to wonder if opta fabricated the picture as it truly beggers belief.

Lucas' always looks that way too.

I look at the Chalkboards after every game, Charlie Adam is the only midfielder we have that has tried to force the games while Gerrard was out. Henderson is somewhere between Adam and Lucas.

the picture actually looks like city sprayed 'downing repellent' in their penalty area.

Like I've been harping about for ages, creativity.
We missed Suarez.

Yes.

We create stuff, but just not good stuff. That's why I chose to say "guile".

We don't create much that a decent side will struggle with.

Good pass from Henderson though, but sh1te from Downing.

Pretty easy game to sum up:

Individual errors cost us goals.

All our goalscorers were on the bench.

As soon as Reina let one in it was game over.

Not disappointed, per se. Our season never hinged on beating City at home, it still doesn't, and it won't looking back in April. More bothered by draws to Wigan and Blackburn. City at home, with a point to prove after losing to Sunderland... it didn't look good.

The worrying thing is that the weak side picked by Dalglish was perhaps the strongest given the circumstances. They're still easing Gerrard in, they don't seem to believe Bellamy has a whole game. The only objection was not having Maxi on the squad, but seeing how Maxi can sometimes fade after 50 minutes perhaps he's in a similar, though not as risky, situation as Bellamy fitness wise. So we picked the freshest squad, probably in the hopes of getting a draw till the 70th minute. Throw in Gerrard, Bellamy, Maxi and see what happens.

And though I think City did have a point to prove, I think its fair to say they didn't really exert themselves. We had them pinned back for large parts of their game, but I think that flattered us. They never look too bothered. Yaya was a beast. Watching Henderson/Spearing/Adam try to shut him down was like watching a grownup dragging toddlers at his feet. The rest of the City team looked slower than usual. Dzeko drags their front line down. But they had their chances/our mistakes, and their defense is fucking professional. Kompany is equally beastly.

I thought Henderson started well, but he tends to fall away from the game. That freekick... a slow bend? FFS. I think he's improved on his earlier season games but he still passes like he's afraid he might break his water. Don't know any other way to put it. No zing no momentum. No power on the shot. And when you're that young and with some speed, we'd forgive you if you blasted it over the bar or got stopped trying to take a few players on. Too afraid of looking bad... Still darts around a bunch, you have to appreciate that. And that pass to Downing was perfect.

Adam has had a terrible past 3-4 games. I think he's suffered most by absence of Lucas. He's a luxury player, needs time on the ball and the opportunity to make a dart goal-wards without needing to track back. I think Dalglish recognized that, but a center of Henderson-Spearing was no match for Yaya, Silva, etc.: Adam had to be more defensive than he wants or can be.

Downing... is a little bitch. Prissy mannequin looking bitch.

[/quote]Have you any idea where someone might aquire some of that?
And perhaps some form of alibi for January 14th.

I think both Kuyt and Maxi's days with Liverpool are numbered. None of them really deserves that mind but by the looks of it they could both go in January I reckon.

Maxi's been good most of the Season but hasn't earned the gaffers trust for some reason (he did make a mess of those chances yesterday it has to be said) and Kuyt's looking like he's completely lost the desire and interest. He's still working and making himself available it just don't seem to work out for him anymore. A few years back he'd buried the chance where Kompany throw himself at the ball. These days he's struggling.

Carroll needs better delivery and by the looks of it it'll come with Gerrard, last night however it seemed the boys were kind of accepting the loss at 2-nil down. The lifeline red from the ref only lasted a couple of mins before we'd conceded a peno. We were the better team in possession for most of the game but personal errors and lack of creativity and calmness in the final 1/3 costed us dearly.

Adam looks like he could use a break - apart from his elegant pass to Downing - he didn't do much right.

Downing wasn't as bad as some are trying to make him in my opinion, he did show pace and willingness to get involved, like the rest of the team last night mind, he couldn't hit a cross. And he looks completely toothless when trying to score. We lack a goal-getter with confidence these days.
