There it is in a nut shell, we lose possession to decent pressure and fail to gain the attacking third, then we're under pressure on a break, and it's capped off with an individual defensive error, followed by an unconvincing defense of a corner.
We have to be able to pass through the midfield a bit. What City are doing is the same many teams have, just put a lot of pressure on as we try to pass it out the back. If we lose possession at times they will be able to break into space with an extra man. If we do manage to get it through, there's space for us as well, but City are easily winning the midfield battle.
