I think he could be a little bit more honest about why he wants to leave but ultimately does it really matter? Everyone knows what the score is and there is a weird political game in football that sees most players, managers, agents and pundits talking in cliches and nonsense. There is no point taking it seriously.
I'll be gutted if he leaves because he's a great player and regardless of all the shenanigans he's been one of the few shining lights in a rather dismal period of our history. That's what I'll remember him for... unlike other players that have left us in different situations.
I didn't question you at all (I said football fanS because I've seen plenty of fans do it from every single walk of life - and not just Liverpool fans) ... I just don't think football fans, in general, are what they once were (or maybe I'm just 'dreaming' of an era gone by where it was the same, but there wasn't internet, or SKY etc)... money, and other things, have greatly changed what it means to be a fan.
I also can't stand the idea of us being called 'the best fans in the world' because I don't see it ... we're great sometimes mind.

As much as I do agree, what really matters is how much the targets we are going to buy instead will cost us. IF we can get their prizes equally down then I wouldn't be against a £30M deal.
It's a bit like when on a house hunt, you want the best prize for your own, but if you are capable of negotiating the prize for your new house down you'd be more willing to accept a lower prize yourself to get a deal done.
