Lukaku holds talks with Tottenham and Everton

I hope Everton qualify for the Champions League and get Lukaku.
I want the true rivalry in Liverpool back. And hopefully to see United outside the top positions, just like in the 80s.

Yeah, and if we are to win the league, then the bone of CL footy for Everton should see relative peace throughout the city as opposed to more bitterness. That and it would be funny as fuck to have both the Mancs and Arsenal in Europa for a year.

A point

Who actually believes Billy Liar is going to fund a move for Lukaku?

I've yet to find an Everton fan who believes they'd release the money to buy him

They might if Utd buy Baines.

They didn't buy anyone when the mancs paid money for fellaini

I'm not convinced kenwright will invest heavily like he should

They bought McCarthy for 13M, whatever it was for Kone and then upwards of 5M on the loan deals for Barry, Lukaku and the Barca kid whose name I can't spell.

They'd be midtable if it wasn't for the Fellani windfall.

But seriously, Chelsea will want more than 20m for lukaku, they wouldn't pay that.

Yeah, I can't see them affording / paying that either. Not unless Baines gets sold but that ship seems to have sailed now.

I was (I posted about him before Chelsea signed him) but have thought again this season- he's just not suited to Rodgers thinking.

Definitely not.

He's already a good player and still young enough to improve but I don't think he'll prove to be the world beater that everyone thinks he'll be.

My money is still on Arsenal but they're in with a great chance. The 3rd round qualification will be really tough for them though.

Because of that £40m+ £1 shit they pulled I would love for Arsenal to miss out so I can needle all my gooner mates mercilessly.

But them missing out so Everton can make it is a tough one. I guess I'll look on the bright side whatever. If Everton get 4th they'll probably get 100 more mercenaries on loan until they crash out in the group stages. And it'll raise more question marks over Moyes credentials if Martinez does it in his first season too.

Surely he should be having talks with Chelsea. New drogba. Why does dick face not fancy him

I'm not yet convinced by Lakaku.

Aye, I agree. There's a touch of the Andy Carroll about him-- quickly hits the ceiling although does posses some movement off the ball.

But not convinced with these burly, bustling strikers any more. Yes, they may bully Agger and Skrtel but they do not seem to do much else or is it passive coaching?

Lukaku's all-round play is far better than Carroll's. He may not be quite as good in the air but he's a fair bit quicker and more intelligent on the ground. He's also still very young and has lots of time to get even better. I don't think he'd suit us, but I rate him highly.

Yeah, this is Lukaku against us earlier this season. He scored a header, but he was pulling out wide a lot, and also playing with the ball on the pitch often. Also didn't actually use his body/strength to muscle around that much. His control was pretty poor in that game, but his game is pretty different from Carroll's. He's more like a Benteke I think.
