That Ayre interview doesn't make much sense. 'He was top of our list in terms of his ability and skills in the position he plays'.

What does that mean? That a Barcelona B player is our marquee attacking signing of the summer?

That's nothing. Watford spotted John Barnes playing in his local park

My first thought on seeing this photo was why the guys would make him pose holding the same kit as the one he's already wearing.
From the photos it seemed like he came in his own Liverpool gear and was presented with his official kit. That would be quite strange, I would think.

Does it matter though? They've scouted him and think he fits the bill, I don't get why there should be an order of priority, you either think a player will improve you or you don't, if it's the latter you don't bother, so I'd imagine with all of our targets it's a case of us wanting them, it beats tossing away £20m on "someone else" because Gareth Barry or whoever is unobtainable. It shouldn't really matter what the initial pedigree is, a few people were showing similar reservations about Coutinho. I know not every transfer is the same, but it seems obvious from Ayre's comments that we have alot of faith in this lad. I'd be more worried if there weren't solid links to other players, but there are, it's obvious there's quite a few on the way in. One of them is being linked with a £20m+ move, so us saying one of our cheaper signings is a big coup should be treated with optimism really. It's not like he's saying £6m on a Spanish reserve is the best we can come up with.

Exactly.

I think the new thread title is a tad sexually aggressive and it has completely put me off the whole thing. So much so my tadger isn't so much giving a twitch on this signing now.

'In the position he plays'. So yeah, he probably is our marquee attacking signing in his particular position, with other attackers in other positions also coming in, like Aspas and perhaps the Armenian lad.

If we sign Aspas, Minas Tirth, Mignolet and either Papadopolous or Alderwield, this would have been a great summer.

I bet Luis Alberto Romero will be ace.

It pains me that so many lads think it trendy to write off a player without giving him a chance. That's just not the Liverpool Way. Come on lads, show a little faith.

As for Borini, he's been injured and hardly featured but there's goals in him. Allen started well enough then faded. Maybe he needs a loan spell to get games which will improve him. Look at Coutinho and Sturridge, from bench to pivotal players. Have faith and support because thats just what we do. YNWA!
