Ludicrous Rumours

My friend in Madrid e-mailed me the story this morning - he says the Madrid press always talks about Atleti players leaving before the "Derby" ...

and more on this (@Kay Age El):

He says the Atleti kids that will be making the jump in the next few years (after the many we've seen in the last few years):

Lucas Hernandez (Theo’s Bro)
Salomon Obama (and his Brother)
Caio Henrique
Nicolás Schiappacasse

It's is rumoured that Roy Hodgson was in my pub last night.

The budgie faced prick.

Fortunately for him, like the time Rahem Sterling was in the pub, I wasn't there to tell him to fuck off.

Could be true. As it happens there are reports on the radio here today that he's considering a DOF job offer in Oz somewhere.

3 Danish pastries for the price of one at my local baker.

Not sure I believe it, but worth sharing at least just in case. We all need Danishes, right?

So Danish pastries really are a Danish thing then. We have things called rock cakes over here and they are definitely not what they sound like. 😉

Liverpool have offered 19-year-old Atletico Madrid left-back Theo Hernandez five times his salary to come to Anfield. Cadena SER

I don't get this.

I know it's only a rumour in this case but in the past we've apparently tripled the salaries of the likes of Downing and Carroll.

I understand offering a better class of salary but why go nuts.

Because it's the minimum he would get at a more successful club.

Depends on what his salary is aswell. As a youth player for Atletico I'd guess maybe 10k a week.

[article]Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea watched Sampdoria striker Patrik Schick in action on Monday night, a source has told ESPN FC.

Schick enhanced his reputation with a goal in Samp's shock 2-1 win over Inter Milan at the San Siro to take his tally for the season to eight.

The 21-year-old, who joined Sampdoria from Sparta Prague last summer, has played for Czech Republic at all youth levels and made his senior international debut last May. He has won three caps and scored one goal so far for his country.

Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund are also admirers of Schick, but the Premier League trio are ready to battle for the forward this summer as they look to bolster their attacking options.

Schick still has three years to run on his contract at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, but Sampdoria are bracing themselves for offers for the player this summer with the striker reported to have a £21 million buy-out clause in his contract.[/article]http://www.espn.co.uk/football/socc...anchester-united-liverpool-and-chelsea-source

[article]FC Barcelona have made a formal offer to Theo Hernandez in very similar terms to the one the Atletico Madrid defender has received from Real Madrid.

According to Diario AS, Barça's offer to Theo, on loan at Alaves, is of more interest to the player. The defender has a release clause of 24 million euros.

The same report, though, suggests that Real Madrid have a verbal agreement with Theo. Los Blancos would pay the 24 million and then offer a contract worth 35 million over five season: six million in 2017-18 and 2018-19, rising by one million each season untul 2021-22.

It's an offer that Barcelona have also made, albeit with slightly inferior qualities.

Despite that, Theo has doubts. His agent, Manuel García Quilón, according to AS, would prefer the player to move to Barça, as would Atletico Madrid. Theo would be keen, too, with Barcelona's interest stemming back to last summer.[/article]

Barca have both Alba and Digne though. Maybe they are selling one of them if true.
Will be difficult to compete with Barca to say the least.

Sat 8 Apr

Liverpool are reportedly battling Manchester City and Manchester United for Barceona duo Marc Cucurella and Jordi Mboula.

According to Spanish newspaper Sport, Liverpool have made offers to Barcelona duo Marc Cucurella and Jordi Mboula – but so have Manchester City and Manchester United.
In recent years, the conveyor belt of talent coming out of Barcelona's famed La Masia academy has dried up, meaning Barcelona have focused more on buying talent rather than developing players.
Players such as Cesc Fabregas and Hector Bellerin even chose to leave Barcelona's youth ranks in order to pursue Premier League careers in recent years, and they face a similar situation now.
Spanish newspaper Sport report that Barcelona face losing two of their top young players, as Marc Cucurella and Jordi Mboula have received offers to join Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United.
Cucurella, 18, plays as a left back for Barcelona's B team, and he has hit an impressive three goals in eight games for Spain at youth level having featured for their under-16's and under-17's.
Meanwhile, 18-year-old winger Mboula hit the headlines earlier this season for his exploits with the Barcelona Juvenil side, scoring a remarkable solo goal against Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Youth League.

However, it's now claimed that the duo have tempting offers to head to England, having not only been offered major money to move to the Premier League, but also a chance at some first-team playing time.
For every Bellerin who goes on to stardom having left Barcelona, there is an Adama Traore who struggles to settle – and having allegedly made offers to sign both players, Liverpool will be hoping that they are the former.
Manchester City and Manchester United are also believed to have made moves to sign the duo, who could be spoilt for choice as Europe's elite – plus Barcelona themselves – bid for their services.

Linked with Tielemans today, 21 mill £. Loads of clubs interested but that would be a great signing.

He would be an amazing signing. Fits in with FSG's policy and he can make an immediate impact

How many Barca youth players have we turned into first team players? I'm going for zero.

Garcia and Reina are the obvious candidates for those who made an impact for us after playing for Barcelona., but they at least had first team experience in Spain first

Should we be looking at yer man Modeste from Cologne? Young, quick and an eye for a goal. I believe he's scored more than Aubdumgang(?) And Cologne are in difficulties.

2012 - Blackburn Rovers - 9 games - 0 goals.
Age 28

He's found his niche at Koln.

Already 3 or 4 behind than Aubumeyang and Lewandowski, but still having an amazing season. I thought about it a few times, he sure looks good now, but something tells me it's the best season of his career by far and he won't be able to repeat it. His playing style reminds me of Benteke a bit, which is also not a good sign.
