Ludicrous Rumours

Already 3 or 4 behind than Aubumeyang and Lewandowski, but still having an amazing season. I thought about it a few times, he sure looks good now, but something tells me it's the best season of his career by far and he won't be able to repeat it. His playing style reminds me of Benteke a bit, which is also not a good sign.

Similar to Costa at At. Madrid? Average then a really good season before being sold. Having said that, you watch more German football than me.

Hopefully it's pure BS, no way should we pay £35m for a walking sick note who has 12 months remaining on his contract
Liverpool happy with Arsenal’s £35m valuation; could match transfer record this summer

Liverpool’s record transfer remains Andy Carroll for £35m in 2011, but according to the Telegraph, we’re willing to pay the same amount for another Englishman this summer.
James Ducker reports that we’ve not been scared off by Arsenal’s £35m Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain valuation.

They suggest that despite the 23-year-old’s contract running out in 2018, the Gunners will demand the hefty sum for his services – but we’re willing to spend it on the versatile midfielder who’s not fulfilled his potential at the Emirates.

This term, The Ox has only started 12 Premier League games, which is nowhere near enough for a player of his talent. Under Arsene Wenger, he’s not held a consistent position and it’s harmed him. He’s been used on the flanks and in central midfield and it’s stunted his development.
We think he’s best when he’s allowed to run at players though, so would imagine if Jurgen Klopp was interested, he’d have a set idea of how to maximise him – much like his plan for Gini Wijnaldum this season.

Fuck me that best be bollocks.

Injury record should be regarded as much more important than our club seems to. It always seems like we think we have magical physicians who can make semi permanently broken players whole again. Which obviously isn't true.

Even if his injury record wasn't laughably atrocious, he's also entirely inconsistent and hasn't ever convinced in any position. At his best he's quick, very strong and can cause chaos with his running and ability to get past players. But that seems to happen about once every 5 games. At his worst, he's like a quicker Wilshere - running head down into trouble time after time, and losing possession brainlessly.

And finally, FINALLY, he's scored 9 Premiership goals in total. Ever. Nine fucking goals over 6 seasons, across 120-odd games.

I was very confident that £35m spent on Mane would be money well spent, and he would be great for us. Spending the same amount of money on Oxlade would make me very, very nervous indeed.

The ox rumour won’t go away. We can expect another summer of people shouting 'smokescreen' (just like the summer we signed crouch) before we sign this him for £40 million.

Don't like him.
HATE that nickname.
And thanks fro the reminder we paid £35 million for Carroll. Jeepers!

The thing I hate more about the nickname, is the fact that everyone in the media seem to use it constantly too.

It sounds fucking ridiculous.

The nickname doesn't bother me - it's no worse than some we've had for ours.

The thing that bothers me is the thought of paying some exorbitant amount for him.

Putting aside the figure is he really worth buying at all or is this based on an acceptance that we can't compete for the top class players.

They're not gonna get 35 mill for him with one year left on his contract.
He is inconsistent but probably the only player, bar Sanchez and Koscielny, who has been good for Arsenal this season. Easy to forget that he's only 23 aswell.
I dont know, I like him and he could fit in with us but not for that fee.
15-20 mill and I'd be okay with it.

He's not top of the list of attacking midfielder/forwards that we should be after this summer, but certainly on the list at least.

When your name is "Oxlade-Chamberlain", a nickname like "The Ox" is hardly much of an absurdist stretch.

More like a useful abbreviation.

Oncy decides who's on the list. Don't get ideas above yer station Hansern.

I like him as a player. He would add depth to the midfield and an alternative out wide when needed. He hasn't wowed in either position but he's good enough to get games for us next season. He's certainly not a bottler like many of his team mates. For sub £25M he would be a decent signing.

Agree with all of that. I'd be OK with 35m only if we get 25m for Moreno.

I rate him - but does worry me a bit he hasn't been able to shine in an Arsenal team looking for people to step up. If he needs game time, are we the ones that can give it to him?

If the price was right (i.e. below 20m) I would seriously want to consider a purchase and loan straight out for a year given his age.

There is an unintended consequence, which is if we do this, it will make Wenger will look like an absolute financial genius and earn him another two years.

Ok - makes sense. I feel like I saw him score for Fulham early in the season when I caught them on tv - but Wiki suggests he has a twin brother also at Fulham so might have been him given he's a left back..

Nope its him. 6 goals from LB.
Twin brother also a LB but I don't think he's broken into the first team yet.

His brother hasnt played for the first team yet.

Think Ryan Sessegnon has played mainly as a left back, but also 2 times as a winger according to Transfermarkt.

Bournemouth, Liverpool and Southampton have reportedly joined Celtic in the race to sign Nigerian star Henry Onyekuru.

According to the Daily Mail, Bournemouth, Liverpool and Southampton have been scouting Eupen star Henry Onyekuru, rivalling Celtic for his signature.
Onyekuru, 19, joined Belgian side Eupen from the Aspire Academy in the summer of 2015, and scored six goals in 19 appearances to help them win promotion to the top flight.
The attacker has really shot to prominence this season though, racking up an impressive 17 goals and seven assists in 33 games in all competitions, attracting major interest in the process.
Capable of playing out wide or up front, the pacey Nigerian has taken Belgian football by storm, and the Daily Mail report that Liverpool – as well as Premier League rivals Bournemouth and Southampton – have been scouting him of late.
The teenager looks set for a big move this summer, as whilst Eupen managed to keep hold of their star man in January, Onyekuru went AWOL in a bid to force a move, and will surely move on this time around.
Liverpool are looking for depth in attack, with a speedy winger needed to offer cover and competition for Sadio Mane on the right hand side of Jurgen Klopp's attacking trident – and Onyekuru fits the bill.

Onyekuru may receive more immediate playing time with Bournemouth or Southampton, whilst Celtic are likely to be sniffing around the forward again having failed with a £1million bid in January.
It's stated that, whilst Eupen wanted £4million for Onyekuru in January, their asking price has now risen to almost £7million, which could price Celtic out, but keep the Premier League trio in the race for his signature.
