Ludicrous Rumours

The teenager looks set for a big move this summer, as whilst Eupen managed to keep hold of their star man in January, Onyekuru went AWOL in a bid to force a move, and will surely move on this time around.

I would pass on him based on that alone.

Didier Drogba was interviewed on that crap, Man U-obsessed BBC TV Premier League programme last night.

Didier said that Lukaku has a deep love for Chelsea FC.

I'm sure the bluenoses will have been delighted to hear that.

They may be past caring now where he's concerned. He's been doing the biz for them on the pitch, but he's plainly wanted out for a very long time.

Yeah, he'll probably end up at Chelsea. I bet they sell Costa for exactly the same fee in some dodgy deal to China.

Barrett and King reporting that Van Dijk is Klopps preferred CB target and will spend big to get him.
We could try to use Sakho in a porential deal.
Southampton probably has a good replacement lined up and will not need Sakho. I also hope we have other options as cannot possibly compete with the chavs and Man City.

Sead Kolasinac has apparently signed for the Gooners. Have no idea why mind you

If true he's only gone as its a London club.

Edit - Reported in most british tabloids now, but from a bosnian media source originally.

So not sure if its legit.

Would be very surprising if true. This might be just his agent agreeing personal terms with a bunch of clubs in advance of the actual transfer.

UPD: The Guardian now also reports it as fait accompli. Very strange indeed – first of all why would a highly sought-after player join Arsenal now that's they are likely to miss out on CL and possibly change managers? Where were the other suitors (including us)? And LB position is far from Arsenal's biggest problem. I don't understand it at all.

Tbh they've been pissed off with him for quite a while.

Now that they play a higher intensity game Lukaku sticks out like a sore thumb. The comparison to Sturridge is quite striking (pun intended) actually.

Ignoring Sturridge's injury record, he's still never been as popular as his goalscoring record suggests he should be with our fans, imo because he looks lazy compared to his peers (the truth is somewhat different imo & is down to playing style, but that's by the by).

In similar fashion Lukaku has continually been accused by the blues as being lazy, which has only increased the more proactive & higher the intensity of the rest of the players has become around him.

They also both suffer from trying to put a shift in to please the manager, which means they then hit a wall mid game & basically stop pressing & running. Hence the calls of "He just stopped playing partway through the second half" that I've often heard our fans say of Sturridge & now hear their fans saying about Lukaku.

Guardian et al, reporting Wenger staying was a massive factor in his decision. To be fair they do need an upgrade on their LB, but like you said, its unlikely they'll be in CL next season at least. Perhaps he's banking on a swift return.

Bad choice by the player if true. And I also can't help but feel 'London' has a certain factor in the decision making.

If it is done it surely mean they sorted the extension with Wenger?

They have offered silly wages for the that left back from Germany, so that suggests wenger has signed, unless he has agreed to work under a director of football, which is even more unlikely
