Lucas transfer was done and dusted

If only he could finally learn that you can't win the ball by tackling from behind. You'd expect a top professional to already know that, or at least learn not to do it really quickly, but, year in, year out, he's still at it, and laughing at the 'absurdity' of being booked for it. I actually really like the guy, and think he does loads of things right, but that one habit is absolutely exasperating.

Lucas (right) completed 73 passes in central midfield, almost more than Chelsea pair John Obi Mikel and Ramires managed between them (76)

Lucas was very good today. We should discuss the game instead of this "how good or not Lucas is" shite.

Both sides are overreacting. He's a decent player that can hopefully do a job until we get someone better. Which Klopp obviously will buy. He can stay as a squad player.

Maybe be should be talking about how average Milner has been since he signed. Not faulting his effort but his impact on the game is minimal.

Milner needs a bit of rest on the bench, give the armband to someone else and as Klopp says "Restart".
Very good player. He'll come good.

Lucas was amazing. I liked his performance after a long long time. I mean usually he is good but today he was better than that

As Macca has pointed out he can't tackle , which for a defensive MF really is a problemo- over the last few weeks I have come to the conclusion that he's not a poor defensive midfielder but an average central midfielder.

He's a red card waiting to happen most games because of his inability to tackle, I'm surprised he doesn't get about 5 reds a season.

He reads the game better than anyone at the club, he takes up positions to recieve the ball better than anyone too.
He's well above average just not a world beater

Whilst his tackling might be a bit suspect.
None of our midfielders intercepts the ball better than him.

Dreamy if he could read the game so well he wouldn't have to make such of a cunt of himself with so many clumsy blundering challenges most of which are unnecessary and in dangerous positions.
That said the last two or three games he has been better but we will soon have Hendo back

Hendo can't play in that role.

That is not a glowing endorsement of Lucas it's a sad reflection on our midfield , which is where our problems lie and Lucas is part of that

The past few seasons Lucas has more often than not been the solution to our midfield problem.

Have you ever noticed none of other midfielders make these challenges are in the position to make them? He reads the situation so well and cover everyone.
Henderson doesn't play in that position and with good reason. It will be Milner who losses out

What? He looks at a situation and thinks "hmmm....no one else has thought about hacking someone down 5 seconds too late. You know what I'll grab the bull by the horns and by Jove I'll be the one to sycthe him down".
