Watching that video, you have to think we can do better.
To me it seems he's got a really good football brain but not quite the skills to match it. He's often in good places and tries to do the right thing but can't quite pull it off. Look at this video - misplaced passes, getting caught on the ball, maybe even the fouls too - and this is in a great game for him. He probably looks good to people who understand tactics (like managers and Ryan) but less so to people who see all the individual errors hence the division in opinion.
