TBH we haven't got the results our performances have deserved. Burnley had 3 shots 2 of which went in (and were crackers too), that doesn't happen very often, neither does having 200 shots and not scoring, play that match 9 more times and we'd win 8 of them and draw the other so it doesn't bother me that much because I understand it was a fluke.
At Arsenal we were unlucky not to run away with it, Coutinho was through on goal and had he not cramped up .... 5-2 would have put the game to bed.
Spurs we deserved to win, anytime Poch says a draw was a fair result you know 100% the other team should have won, and of course there was Coutinho's terrible miss, the disallowed goal, Matip's header off the bar .. and so on. Spurs' best was Dier's header over. We should have won no matter that the stats make it look close, it wasn't.
And what is this down to ? There was a superb assessment on a German website end of last season on how Klopp's tactics were starting to take effect, no matter that the results weren't reflecting it accurately yet. Someone posted it here, it was a long read but superb - was it Rurik who posted it ?
We have strengthened (Milner over Moreno is an upgrade for me, Matip & Lovren looked good together, Karius will improve the goalkeeping situation, Wijnaldum has been solid and a good fulcrum even if unspectacular and thereby not getting noticed by the fans and Mane has been a massive upgrade on the right wing and some of our attacking play has been superb, including a 29 pass move/goal vs. Arsenal, was that just luck then ?
Would I have prefered a stronger LB & CM ? De Sciglio or Hector ? Absolutely. Dahoud in midfield ? Damn right. However let's not lose sight of the progress we have made, I'm still excited for the season ahead whereas some of you sound like you'd be better off switching to following rugby for the season ahead.
